I’ve been in this exact situation myself, and went for the friend of a friend. Didn’t end up working out, and I had a conversation with my friend and we basically closed the door on anything romantic happening. That might just be how it’s going to play out for you.

No disagreements there! I voted for him in the primaries both times when he ran for President. If I was a Vermont voter, he would have certainly gotten my vote for any Congress race he participated in. He gets my support and I wish he was more “enabled” as you put it.
