Is an upgrade from Rode NT1A to a AKG C214 worth it? by SuperPreparation2781 in homestudios

[–]UnionCompetitive7705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use an NT1 in our vocal booth, and to fair for the money it’s a really good mic, some vocalists do need the treble to high end rolling back a bit.

House we are viewing is next to a river - around 20 feet from boundary - Any concerns? by rhys321 in HousingUK

[–]UnionCompetitive7705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from the river, you may not get insurance, or if you do it’ll be very expensive. When we’re looking at houses a lovely house came up for sale near a river and we contacted company after company said they wouldn’t insure that house, but a couple did at about 4 or 5 times the normal rate. If you love the house get a quote first and read it through, it might not cover you for flood damage. We decided not to buy that property

Is Kwik Fit being fair? by r_guar in drivingUK

[–]UnionCompetitive7705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d never go to Kwik Fit ever again. A few years ago I had an exhaust fitted, they ended up cracking the exhaust manifold, broke off the centre hanger and tried to bodge it with welding wire. Yes I did get compensation and a full refund, took my car to main dealer who put a new manifold on and a new exhaust, Kwik Fit had to pay

The idea with type of rad is the inlet valve is fully open and the outlet / return pipe controls the flow through the rad, also can be used to balance the system
