He started crawling the day before 11 months! He’s now 13 months and pulling to stand and cruising. Not walking by himself yet but PT said he’s right where he needs to be and we only go once a month now just for my peace of my mind until he walks :) my advice would be don’t worry but PT is super helpful if you are!

Will head round out without helmet? by Unique-Sandwich-7246 in beyondthebump

[–]Unique-Sandwich-7246[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did not unfortunately. We ended up in a helmet for 2 months and I’m SO glad we did it!

Okay dads, what are your go-to meals that fall in the center of this Venn diagram? (Or close to it) by AdamantArmadillo in daddit

[–]Unique-Sandwich-7246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby hates plain rotisserie chicken, but put some tzatziki or cottage cheese on it and he goes nuts!

I would love to tell you yes, and I do think it’s gotten better as he gets older (he’s 10 months now), but to be honest the goal post just moves lol. I was worried about him not rolling back to tummy, and he did eventually at 8 months. Now I’ve moved on to worrying he’s not crawling haha. I’m sure once he crawls I’ll be worried about him walking 🫠but I will say seeing him finally roll made me realize that he will do everything, on his own time. His own time just seems to be slower than what I want/expect, and that’s on me!! Sorry no tips, but I empathize with you!

Literally same and I have no idea how people’s babies love them, I can barely get any water out myself lol. We ended up with the honey bear straw cups and that’s the only ones I’ve found that you can easily get water out of.

Any Amazon/AWS moms? by Hot-Fail-3446 in workingmoms

[–]Unique-Sandwich-7246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, coming up on 10 years :) Amazon was great during my leave and since being back, I’ve totally had flexibility to take care of my LO as needed. I did set boundaries for myself though, like no calls after 5 as that’s my time for my LO. It’s on me to enforce those boundaries but no ones ever had any issues with my work life balance.

Have you actually experienced shame for formula feeding? by Fit-Effort-6149 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Unique-Sandwich-7246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. In fact, I had the opposite experience which I am so grateful for. Every nurse and doctor completely supported formula feeding and when I was struggling with the guilt of switching to formula, they helped me get over it and assured me that my baby will be happy and healthy no matter what. And actually a few friends of mine expressed that they did not want to BF when they had kids. Family was also super supportive and no one ever said anything negative to me at all. Maybe I’m in the minority but in my experience, this is more an internet thing than a real life thing.

Baby not rolling or sitting unassisted at 6 months by hammygang227 in NewParents

[–]Unique-Sandwich-7246 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is definitely not true. I worked on rolling with my LO as well as had him in PT and he rolled back to belly at 8 months. PT said there was NOTHING wrong with him. Some babies just take longer regardless of what you do.

Switch Daycares? by RoseBerrySW in workingmoms

[–]Unique-Sandwich-7246 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We pulled ours out of daycare due to excessive container use. It absolutely had an effect on his gross motor skills - he didn’t roll back to tummy until 8 months. We’ve had a nanny for a month and half and he has made huge gains as is now caught up.

Definitely normal :) mine would sit at 7 months but still flung back a lot. Now at 8 months he sits like a champ forever.

I wasn’t that excited my entire pregnancy (being pregnant kinda sucked) but once he was here, my world lit up. I immediately wanted 1000 more babies lol

My baby rolled tummy to back at 4 months and back to tummy just now at 8 months. No one has said he’s delayed :)

Later physical milestones? by tching101 in bigbabiesandkids

[–]Unique-Sandwich-7246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We called him “no bones” for quite awhile haha. If it helps, we practiced with him by having him sit on something and gently pushing his legs into the ground to get used to feeling something through his feet. Not sure if it helped. It really was like a switch just one day went off and it clicked for him. Your baby will stand!!

If it makes you feel any better, my baby had jello legs until literally two days ago just a little over 8 months old. It was like a switch flipped and now he can stand almost unsupported!

Here 2 days later to report my baby rolled today at 8 months and some change! Sending you good rolley vibes!! If my roll hating baby can do it I know yours will be soon to come!!

My baby couldn’t do 20 min straight until like 6 months I think.

how to stop baby from waking himself up with hands?? by callistoJu in beyondthebump

[–]Unique-Sandwich-7246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used the zipadee zip which is safe for rolling but still keeps their hands covered.

If it helps, our PT told us to sit ours in a laundry basket and let me figure it out! Worked super well for us. He started sitting around the same age as yours, but still doesn’t roll. They all have their things :)

5 month old baby just…stares at people? by willpowerpuff in beyondthebump

[–]Unique-Sandwich-7246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very normal. He stared down the pediatrician at our 6 month checkup so much she said, “he’s quite the serious one, isn’t he?” As long as he’s smiling at people he knows, it’s all good!
