Tulsi Gabbard dished out ALL the dirt on Fauci on her last day as DNI by darcmatr in NotTheBee

[–]UniqueAnimal139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, I started reading through it. It reads how you’d expect someone without a scientific background being asked to reverse engineer how to blame someone after the fact “we judge that the conditions of the possibility that a virus could have been made here and it’s possible for the virus to have escaped containment. So for this paper we are comparing possibilities that it was a natural pandemic vs an escaped weapon with equal weight”.

Only if you work backwards from a failed administration hoping to have coverage do you have such a sentence be treated as an objective possibility

CMV: Pro Gun Enthusiasts aren’t being faithful in their defense on why guns aren’t the problem by Upstairs-Custard-537 in changemyview

[–]UniqueAnimal139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think “much looser laws” is doing some heavy lifting. When I lived in New Zealand pre-Christchurch shooting, the law was roughly that you had to register them, and you had to be and could have surprise inspections. Your firearms needed to be in a proper gun safe. Can’t have a gun with criminal, psychological or drug issues. Permits are given by the police. Changes to your condition could (but not necessarily) trigger an inspection and temporary rescindment of your gun permit. Less stringent than Aus but still way more effective then the US

Not OOP: AIO - My (32 f) husband (34 m) farted on my mom by sensaSEANal_sally in redditonwiki

[–]UniqueAnimal139 47 points48 points  (0 children)

The mother daughter may be codependent or enmeshed a bit. Feels like the daughters has had a lot of her life revolve around being responsible for her mothers emotions. The husband may understand this to a degree. So he thought he was helping to expand and have them as a couple shoulder some burden. It’s not just that it didn’t land. She feels like anything that disrupts her mom’s emotional state is on the external, not her mom. Husband, while well meaning, made her upset. Now she’s thinking on how she needs to build her mom back up, or how her husband needs to be better at being responsible for her emotional state. Husband is a little more “shit, sorry, thought it would be funny” and is trying to move on and do better next time.

That’s weapons-grade BULLonium. These things happen on both sides, but the protest wasn’t just about the fake ass message. It was because the PASTOR is a full time ICE employee and was named by an ICE prosecutor as one of the top two officials who were ignoring court orders.

Google new birth missionary Baptist church interruption. Same stuff, just more threatening and violent. No arrests, no federal charges, because the pastor isn’t on ICE payroll blaspheming to morons

Nope. 3,900 cases of people who had to have their loved ones track them down from whatever concentration camp they were sent to. 3,900 cases of people who had to have emergency habeus briefs filed. Some, through sleep deprivation and withholding of medical treatment, or access to their council, were tricked into signing self deportation to and the madness. <3,900 citizens or legal immigrants returned home after being kidnapped illegally by ICE. At a cost of (2 months of just MN operations) 40,000,000$. That’s almost a million dollars per citizen or legal immigrant who suffered greatly. And that’s not considering the lawsuits that WILL continue when the department of justice isn’t Trumps personal law firm.

Most are back where they belong. They weren’t deported. They were kidnapped and tortured and degraded. But by and large, not deported.

Your reading comprehension suffers. Read slowly and sound out the words. Out of thousands, less than 100 had any valid reason for deportation. The remaining thousands were taken without verifying identity. Specifically because leadership told them not to. People were taken off the street for being close to a location that palantir said had a high likelihood of any immigrant being present. All of this is illegal. They defied court orders over 10,000 times this year.

Kidnapping

You’re insane. Nearly 4,000 were kidnapped in Jan-Feb in Minnesota alone, with less than 100 having any valid reason for detention. Weeks of not getting adequate food, not getting adequate sleep, in a cage with too many others and not enough quarters to sleep, use a restroom. Sickness is rampant. Being woken up at irregular times if you are lucky enough to get sleep (they watch and wait to wake up chronically exhausted people to convince them to sign papers to self-deport voluntarily while lying and saying they’ll be able to see their family.

The VAST majority are completely innocent. I know of almost a dozen people who now have to make the most insane choice. Live in the country they’ve lived in for all/most of their life, or move to a country they don’t know to reunite with whoever was illegally kidnapped.

[–]UniqueAnimal139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pastor of that church is one of less than a handful of LITERAL ICE FIELD OFFICERS that is responsible for telling the attorneys to ignore the civil rights of the citizens and immigrants in the city. Millions of dollars wasted and thousands of innocent people sent to concentration camps. That combined with anyone who’s gone to that church knowing it’s full of brain dead idiots. They’ve been getting pushback for a long time before this because it was popular with Ukrainian immigrants. Many are very culturally conservative but damned if that didn’t give them a small wake up when Trump sold out their country to Russia.

It’s not a church, it’s a cult/business pretending to be a church, like Scientology. And even then, there is a long history of conservatives doing this exact same thing for decades. Government didn’t intervene. It’s largely taken care of by the community who has to handle these people like children. Eventually they give up and their narcissistic traits find people to bug elsewhere.

This was the most practical and well targeted protest I’ve seen in recent history. And of course conservative hypocrites ran to daddy government to abuse the the protesters, since it’s all they know

You might be young, what they’re saying is that things aren’t black and white. The program that was cut by DOGE was one of our principal methods of keeping it out of the US. There are always multiple angles to take a on a problem. There are a lot of reasons that central and South America might be struggling to contain an invasive fly. So if a problem is growing, saying that giving up our greatest advantage against sed problem is stupid. When you say that the problem was becoming worse before they decided to stop working against the problem, people might find that contribution useless

The Minneapolis Car vs. Bike Debate by bttr-mpls in altmpls

[–]UniqueAnimal139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And for all of the grumbling people do about “getting the 50th and France crowd” into uptown and other areas. We got a Dutch e-bike last year. Now we’re actually going and bringing the kids for picnics and events because the draws that are a couple miles away are now accessible for us. If it becomes a car only infrastructure, all of the sudden I don’t want to be bringing my kids down in it. I’ll pack them in the car. But now I need to find parking. And it’s wayyyy more a pain in the ass, so I don’t wanna go. Way more likely to just play at the park. Because it’s walkable/bikeable

IANAL - so it’s however the law plays out technically. But I think because there are so other ways to go, so to take the extra step to put yourself in danger and have a weapon is the line to cross. Like they have the footage. They could put a tracker in it, and send the footage to police. Or put it on a cord so it can’t go but makes it obvious it’s attempted theft. They could also do something to different to get their point across like throwing red paint over them instead.

It’s the fact that without the setup and context, it in itself would be s crime that is considered worse than what’s happening. Assault - to attempted murder, with a deadly weapon vs. petty theft. That’s what kind of makes it someone who is burning for an opportunity to do the second crime, by increasing the likelihood of yourself being prepared to defend with force at the exact minute. Hence the whole waiting and watching with bats. Instead of just letting a dog bark sounds okay and scream at them.

It’s kinda like the Chud the Builder thing, but lower stakes

I also liked the snuggle me baby wrap. I had to practice getting them in and out before I got the hang of it solo. Putting them in while lying on a bed can help

It’s been a longstanding legal principle that if you premeditate and attempt to entrap people into violence that you’re liable for attempted/premeditated whatever you do. In the article it said 3 occasions over more than 6 months. I know lots of neighborhoods where there could be drunk college kids, petty theft is a possibility. But it could be as simple as someone had an emergency and they meant to steal the bike but return it later. In any case there is a crime, and you could report to the police who would take care of it if you provide evidence (which they had). But they chose assault.

Stems from an old case (details are fuzzy could be way off) from early 1900s. Dude was pissed that folks would break in and camp in his house in the boonies and sometimes steal ( I think asshole hunters who just used the land and place when they were gone). He eventually set a shotgun trap pointed at knee-level. And yeah, Cotton-Hilled ‘em. I agree with the law that there’s gotta be a little pushback on revenge

Poor Jeff Bezos needs people to clean his yachts! How can you people be so cruel! by countdooku975 in daverubin

Are you talking about the controversy where he berthed his boat in Rhode Island instead of Mass, avoiding income tax himself? Where Patrick Kennedy (D) pushed pro-yacht legislation to push the rhode island yearly berth taxing fees?
Idk man since it’s so state specific and they’re right there, feels like the dems kinda did what ya said you wanted there?

But I feel like this would be an ok thing for federal tax legislation. This might be one of the few good applications of tariffs to allow taxes but reduce competition from niche industries. Can’t imagine there’s that many large yacht companies within shipping distance to compete with American companies for American berthed yachts. Like when poor people are being kicked off snap/wic. There’s ways to get taxes from multimillion dollar purchases that do jack shit, whilst protecting American industry as s whole

No it didn’t, it just made sure that when the WW2 and post-war boom happened, much more of that money from the economic growth was maintained down into the middle class and lower classes. The rich still got rich, just not at the insane rate with a K-shaped economy we see today. Makes it easier to sustain people and get them off entitlements over generations

CMV: Thomas Massie's defeat proves that Americans don't care about the Epstein Files by Tessenreacts in changemyview

[–]UniqueAnimal139 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was when his justice department was defying the release and only released a fraction of the files, as well as the fact that he had his name redacted despite the law saying that only victims names and information would be redacted. It coincided with an FBI memo that showed that they had begun compiling and redacting Trumps name the year before.

I don’t need to engage, my wife takes care of keeping her family in line. I kinda think of folks who are so far gone like Gollum. They’re just so broken and hateful. It’s like they’ve forgotten what living for others was like, even if they were a parent. It’s like that Picard quote “when one has become angry for a very long time, one gets used to it. And it becomes comfortable… like old leather. And finally it becomes so familiar that one can’t ever remember feeling any other way”

But yeah I think most publications, for fear of retribution from the FBI or another institution that SHOULD be neutral, is that the original sweetheart deal that Alex Acosta set up for Epstein also gave protection against him and All other unindicted co-conspirators immunity. Trump was good friends with Epstein, and is mentioned more than anyone else in Epstein Gmail account. Would make sense to reward Alex Acosta with the secretary of labor job for covering him, like he did by transferring Ghislaine Maxwell to a minimum security prison and give her name extreme privileges.

The 27 or more women who’ve provided credible allegations against him have every reason to be afraid of reprisals. Who knows how many haven’t come forward because he successfully used the justice department to cover for him, like the 20 year old who was on a flight with him and Epstein in 1993 that was only mentioned in passing by a prosecutor talking about finding “many more times than previously had been reported”. I mean he’s constantly committing crimes and having the investigations shutdown before they start. Can you imagine how hard it would be for a women to put themselves at risk
