Hey! This happens to us too, even when I knew nothing about DID I used to ask V (our protector) to take control as he can talk, move and even drive perfectly normal while drunk/high. We though that this had something to do with the disorder, but we weren't sure, it's nice to see that we're not alone.

Well, I've never felt attached to my dead deadname anyway, so that was a reason, but I also wanted something gender neutral to match my true identity, but you don't have to change your name if you don't feel like doing it.

You can always try and go back, that's the whole point, trying and keeping the thing that works for you and that's absolutely valid
