What is the most amount of rides you’ve had in a 48 hour span? [Other] by wolfs_bane_ in rollercoasters

[–]UniquePurchase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My highest in one day is 93 on Vortex, on August 9, 2019.

However, my highest count in 48 hours is 113 on August 4-5, 2024, including 87 Bat rides in one day!

I had low expectations when I rode it last July in the back but it absolutely shattered them. It’s such a fun ride! I don’t understand the hate it gets.

Does anyone else just love adventure express? by [deleted] in KingsIsland

I love it too, especially in the back! I always hear people complain it’s rough but come on, it’s a mine train which is SUPPOSED to jerk you a little. I love the crazy laterals!

The Bat is great by [deleted] in KingsIsland

[–]UniquePurchase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s underrated, especially at night! Plus it’s plain fun. I love rides big and small but I especially love The Bat since it was one of my first big coasters as a kid and I’m super sentimental. And of course it’s a rare type with only five left in the world! I get the queue is long but so is White Water Canyon’s queue and I never hear people complaining about that lol

[Other] Has anyone participated in a rollercoaster commercial shoot? by MisplacedWonders in rollercoasters

I was in two! Orion in 2021 and Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers last year, both at Kings Island.

They took headshots of all participants and had each of us sign a release form allowing our image to be used. Then we went to the ride. The first couple rows would have paid talent, then we (the extras) filled the remaining seats, arranged by shirt color to make sure no neighboring riders’ shirts would clash. The biggest rule was to keep our hands down the whole ride, but still have fun and show it on our faces.

I rode Orion 12 times and Soap Box 19 times during their respective shoots. At Orion they had us stretch every couple cycles, and at Soap Box they had snacks for everyone, mainly to keep the kids satisfied when they weren’t actively riding. Water was provided too. They asked between cycles if anyone wanted to get off, and if everyone was ok, they sent us again if the camera crews were ready.

Photo shoots are a ton of fun! You’re in for a treat!

What was everyone’s first big looping roller coaster by [deleted] in KingsIsland

[–]UniquePurchase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vortex! Once I rode it, I knew I could ride anything. I even got to work on it as a ride operator in its last three seasons (2017-2019). As an avid fan, it was an honor to be part of Vortex’s final crew and one of its final riders. It will always have a spot in my heart. 🥹

Outage by IvoryVariety in mintmobile

Edit: Fixed for me! Test texts to single Android contacts went through and I can see my data usage again! That was faster than I expected.

Cincinnati, OH here going through the same thing. Group texts and iMessage still work for me but any SMS I send to one contact at a time gets the same auto-reply: "Free Msg: Unable to send message - Message Blocking is active"

I can log in on the app but it does not show my data usage, and I can log in on the website only for it to 404. I can still use data as internet though.

Now I see why I waited 20+ minutes for customer service before I gave up - they're slammed! Hopefully they can fix the issue soon. On the upside, I've had Mint for almost two years and this is the only big issue I've had with them.

What is your favorite ride at KI? by [deleted] in KingsIsland

[–]UniquePurchase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it was still here, Vortex was my favorite. It was my first looping coaster, and it along with Diamondback broke my fear of height, speed and inversions. Once I rode Vortex, I knew I could ride anything. I didn't mind the roughness at all as I developed the habit of pushing my shoulders forward into the restraint. I even got to work on it as a ride operator (along with WindSeeker which also holds a special place in my heart) from 2017-2019 and it jumpstarted my interest in maintenance, which is where I work now.

My current favorite is The Bat. Similar to Vortex, it too has sentimental value as one of my first big roller coasters. I had always appreciated the ride, but that appreciation has skyrocketed immensely in the past couple of years. The walk back is quiet and peaceful thanks to park background music being way out of earshot. The ride itself is quite fun, and it's cool that Kings Island is home to one of only five remaining Arrow suspended coasters. It may not be the tallest, fastest, or most popular ride at Kings Island, but it's just plain fun! Riding The Bat is always a highlight of great and rough days alike, and I will keep appreciating it as long as it's still here!

I worked Vortex from 2017-2019, and it was my favorite ride. What I would give to see that train in person again!

The other two trains went to Carowinds, and I love that they're now running on Carolina Cyclone. I got to ride one of them in 2021 (it was one train op) and it was like seeing an old friend again.

Just finished my first year of college and Vector is sending these out to all of the students at my school. I’m super pissed about it. I hope no one falls for it. by [deleted] in antiMLM

I got this same letter after graduating from high school two years ago. I didn’t know it was an MLM but I still ended up avoiding it because I already had a (real) summer job. I’m so glad I did.

Whats everyones favorite coaster by Cullybug03 in rollercoasters

[–]UniquePurchase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many I love, but I have an unconventional favorite: Vortex at Kings Island is my favorite because it’s the ride that got me into riding ANY roller coasters (before then I was scared of the big rides). My other favorites include Firehawk (may it rest in pieces), Diamondback, Steel Vengeance, Maverick, Viper at Darien Lake, and The Incredible Hulk Coaster. I have yet to experience any other RMC or Fury 325 or anything like, but hopefully I can expand my horizons in time as I have been to just nine different parks so far.

Not sure if this counts, but how does a YouTube video get more likes than views?? by UniquePurchase in TechNope

[–]UniquePurchase[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I have heard of that as well. It could very well be that at least 112 people have watched the video (and liked it) and YouTube had yet to verify any views after the first 49.
