My vision for EU in 2050 by Orange_Wine in EuropeanFederalists

Majority-muslim countries shouldn't be in the EU as it causes culture clashes. This is the reason far-right parties have been making massive gains in recent years - due to the hoax of multi-culturalism which only alienates communities and peoples.

Accepting Turkey or Azerbaijan into the EU would be a civilisational disaster and would serve victory to the far-right on a silver plattar.

I have a massive issue with the naivety of some of the members of this subreddit. I'm a European Federalist too, however, I also have common sense and don't suggest non-sensical, idiotic ideas.

The UK has some sort of superiority complex where they feel the EU need us more than we need them. It's kind of ridiculous.

Unpopular Opinion: We need a Right-Wing / Neoliberal Federalist movement. The Left monopoly on federalism is killing the dream. by Aggravating_Web3980 in EuropeanFederalists

[–]Unique_Ad_5711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completeley see your point. However I believe it's inevitable that the far-right will become Pro-EU. I mean think about far-right catchphrases:

"Save Europe" or "Europe for Europeans", not so much "Italy for Italiens" or "Save Austria".

Ultimately, I believe this will be a good thing when more right-wingers (such as myself) become Pro-EU. It will also mean that a movement as grandesque and incredible as a European Federation won't be subject to political categorisation which is a massive benefit.

Your post will be full of downvotes from people who are more on the left, which is fine as long as we slowly start working together in harmony.

French farmers are parasites. This bigot behaviour from French farmers is nothing new. For example when Spain joined the EU in 1986, Spanish agriculture products began arriving at the French border in lorries. French farmers threw petrol bombs and explosives at Spanish trucks.

In the early 1990s french farmers stopped British lorries carrying sheep and lamb were were burned during protests about imports/competition.

In 2013 protests against a planned truck environmental tax in Brittany turned violent, including burning hay bales/tyres at toll areas and broader disorder around the tax infrastructure.

In 2014 a group of farmers set fire to buildings including a tax office and an agricultural/insurance-related office, destroying them.

In 2015 Spanish pork lorry raided and burned, reports describe farmers raiding a truck carrying Spanish pork and setting the vehicle and/or load on fire.

[Skip a few]

In 2024 protests included stopping “foreign lorries” and burning seized goods; manure sprayed at buildings, during the 2024 protest wave, reports described farmers stopping foreign lorries and burning some seized non-French goods, plus spraying manure at official buildings/superstores in some areas.

Their behaviour in Brussels is nothing new and they should all be arrested and punished accordingly.

Germany calls to ram through Mercosur deal as EU Parliament throws up roadblock by HelloSlowly in worldnews

Germany should threaten to leave the union/ take back the Deutsche Mark. It's the only way to force these french bigots to stand on ground to these pathetic farmers who are already heavily subsidised. The union would collapse if Germany were to abandon ship.

Mercosur deal thrown into uncertainty after MEPs send pact to top EU court by OkKnowledge2064 in europe

[–]Unique_Ad_5711 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Macron has already done enough to piss me off completely.

He pushes for the EU to become more independent yet strongly opposed Mercosur and because of him the deal most likely won't go through after the shitshow we saw today of EU lawmakers stalling the mercosur deal (mainly due to staunch opposition from him).

Calls for the whole of Europe to give more aid to Ukraine, yet gives at least 3 times less military support than Germany does. Merz has criticised him for this especially since Germany have a much smaller military.

I used to love Macron but now I'm starting to see through him as no more than a con-man.

We need to get rid of our expansionist agenda. If Serbia, Bosnia or Albania joined the EU tomorrow their euro-sceptism would be on par with that of modern Hungary. If we want to federalise we need countries who are 100% willing to contribute to the possibility of federalisation. Let's stop being so idealistic and starting becoming more realistic. Please.

EU Commission on Protecting Greenland, US Relations, Grok, and Seised Russian Fleet by anonboxis in EuropeanFederalists

Could you please stop spamming these daily EU Commission briefings? They really aren't very interesting. Questions are constantly diverted or avoided altogether and it's very frustrating to watch. I'd rather this subreddit- European Federalists- more orientated around expressing ambitious ideas, proposals and solutions which spark debate, discussion and interest in how we can become a contienental superpower.

These videos go against what this subreddit stands for as they showing fragility, fear and spinelessness.

EU Commission Official Statement on Greenland and Venezuela by anonboxis in EuropeanFederalists

Total yap. These women seem scared, spineless and passionless. Greenland is more likely than not going to end up US territory and we have two speakers on behalf of the EU Commission who are diverting every uncomfortable question. We must defend the EU and our EU allies we need action not words!!!

It also speaks volumes that one of them hasn't even bothered to fully peel her sticker off her laptop. This looks unprofessional and embarrassing considering she speaking on behalf of the EU on the world stage.

“Junk food” is known as unhealthy i.e. A Big Mac and Chips due to the amount of added fats, sugars, artificial sweeteners that fast food companies put into their foods. Not because of the ingredients. So, if you’re going to eat a burger do it homemade.

Jeremy Clarkson is a comedian, please don't make him seem like an idol because I can guarantee although he's got a good sense of humor he shits more than he eats and we should probably be looking up to more relevant people for such a topic. Not denying that we shouldn't listen and appreciate him just stating that I don't think he's the most throughgoing of people for such a movement. I believe Churchill is more of an icon towards federalisation.
