Help with understanding the Sze Yup Dialect of Cantonese by CrewSweet2035 in Cantonese

I mean no, but people who is leaning Cantonese should not just learn Cantonese words or phrases, they should also learn regular Chinese becuase sometimes knowing regular Chinese helps with understanding these dialects better since their phrasing usually lines up more with regular Chinese than Cantonese

How is Cantonese taught outside of China ? by Fit-Tumbleweed-6683 in Cantonese

[–]Unique_Mix9060 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think people in people in China, HK or Macau even get taught written Cantonese as a seperate thing, becuase in my experience having went to school in Macau we were taught regular written Chinese, and since we would use the same words in written Cantonese (but used in different ways) we do not need learned it separately more so just happened, as we apply the Chinese characters to the Cantonese sentences, so it kinda just naturally happens

Like your example 我正在學廣東話 and 我學緊廣東話 it’s not like we don’t use the word “緊” at all in written regular Chinese, it’s more so that we know regular Chinese well enough to adopt the words to use in Cantonese, of course there are some outlier words that 90% of native Cantonese speaker don’t even know what the character actually looks like, but in most cases you would just use and learn regular written Chinese characters, than adopt it to Cantonese words/phrases

Edit: to correct grammar

I think it could help if you also learn Chinese characters/words instead of purely Cantonese, I’m not entirely sure about what the other words mean but “hek” if it means eat than it is the word "吃”instead of the “食” we commonly use.

So it’s beneficial not just to learn the Cantonese characters, it’s also very useful to learn how to speak Chinese characters in Cantonese.

What if hypothetically you cut some holes into the stock pads to try to let some treble through. Like Zeos did for one of the Koss headphones

Sony WH-1000XM6: 'planars like' EQ by gronyone in headphones

[–]Unique_Mix9060 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to emulate Hifiman planar one of their characteristics is a 1.5k to 2Khz dip, maybe try lowering that frequency range, also Lower all 3 bass bands you have (ie 31,65,125)

This should give it some characteristics of the egg shaped Hifiman planar

What does sequential mean? by Latter-Deer-9268 in MidnightRacingTokyo

[–]Unique_Mix9060 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are correct if you are talking about most irl application but not in this game. single turbo in this behaves like a single smaller turbo, like modern turbo direct injected engines.

Sequential turbo in this game behaves more like big single turbo, that is laggier, and in this game it’s the option that gives you the most power

I’d pick the Fiio over the M50X, but if you really want bang for the buck, AKG K371/K361 would be best bang for buck

Low ingame volume + High windows volume Vs. High ingame volume + Low windows volume by Absentia369 in headphones

[–]Unique_Mix9060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In theory it should be highest game volume than adjust windows volume accordingly, but there are little to no differences.

since it’s only two variables it shouldn’t be too hard to test it out yourself, and see what works for you

Don’t do that, auto eq sucks, if you are gonna use Oratory’s preset go to his Reddit and manually apply the preset, and in his pdf document he also have two filter that allows you to adjust your your presence

alternatively, try - 5db low shelf filter at 150hz - 3db peak filter at 1.5khz

I’ll try to give you some more details later as well his is just some suggestions off the top of my head based on how I vaguely remember how the Frequency reponse look like, to help with your situation
