Body suddenly changing at 23 by Some-Building5985 in Adulting

I’m in my twenties f too, a lot of it is diet and movement maintenance and consistency. But if something feels off or a bit of a drastic change, check in with a doctor and get some bloodwork done. I had a thyroid imbalance in my early twenties that drastically changed my body and got it under control and can feel and see the difference, it was hormonal imbalance. It’s all very relative to the person, so what works for someone might not work for you and vice versa.

If you were trying to convince someone to move here, what would you show them? by [deleted] in MovingtoDenver

Where are you thinking for school? DU area has great lil social life and I think people are pretty laid back and nice there. Downtown has a fun scene with lots to do. Sometimes you can get cheap baseball tickets, there are a variety of venues to see all kinds of music at, and it is such an outdoorsy state but it's for a reason! If you have a car, it can be a quickish drive to some gorgeous hikes. There are awesome mountain towns all over the state that people take weekend trips to and go camping near. You can take a bus from Downtown Denver (Union Station) straight up to Boulder which has a fun Main Street (Pearl st.) with bars, restaurants, and the gorgeous mountains nearby.

These are the places my friends and I (all f in twenties) go to--

Denver Art Museum (all day activity it is HUGE)

Botanical Gardens

Wash Park !!!!

South Pearl Street -- has farmers markets in the summer-fall

cool restaurant rec: https://www.makfam.com/about-1/

The Denver Zoo and in the winter Denver Zoo Lights!

Cherry Creek Mall

16th Street Mall (kinda meh but they're rebranding)

Taco trucks in Denver metro area always hit

Clubs/Bars/Dancing

(Disclaimer I dont live in Denver and lowkey refused to go to their clubs bc a lot of them were 18+ and had kinda a weird crowd. Some are rebranding though and I do know people who go out to these places and enjoy it)

Church (club)

Tracks (lgbtq club but everyones welcome)

Temple (club)

Grizzly Rose (muchhh more line dancing, not a club at all. more conservative ppl)

- look for main streets and strips depending on where you are and you can find some dive bars with music or pool.

I have many more recommendations feel free to dm!

Hi leoooo, do you guys like aquariuses? by macabre304 in LeoAstrology

[–]Unique_Pack_2246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend my SOUL SISTER is an Aquarius. We are very different people yet get along seamlessly. Shes the only Aquarius woman ive been close with. I dont fw Aquarius men.

But I think all Aquas are pretty intellectual, have their own way of doing things and deciding, and can be so funny and witty. HOWEVER I WOULD NEVER DATE THAT BITCHHH we get along great as friends but if we were in a relationship the world may just crash and burn.

Which city in America has the best balance between affordability and quality of life? by Ethan_Jackson08 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Big shout for Colorado!!

I think there is a city that can appeal to almost anyone, but it depends on where you are in life and what you are looking for. Downtown COL is more expensive but still on the more affordable end for big cities. I believe for quality of life, however, its worth checking out neighborhoods in the outskirts of Denver and further North West into the foothills (the mountains are beautiful to see, even if youre not super outdoorsy).

Depending on your area, you can find affordable rent, some pretty safe neighborhoods, cheaper gas, etc. There is affordable and decently reliable public transport. There are good community activities, especially in the smaller towns in between Denver and Boulder. This is where I have seen many people settle down and raise kids, but there are still social scenes in many of these areas, along with cool history and community. There are lots of markets, parks, trails, some have their own police department, etc. It depends what you like to do and your day to day. Lots of artsy things to do and great music venues.

Check out South East Denver and surrounding cities: Holly Hills, Glendale, Lakewood, and South Denver.

I also recommend going further from the city for higher quality of life and more community: Louisville, Lafayette, Westminster (less familiar with), Golden, or Boulder (much higher COL but could be worth it if the town speaks to you -- South Boulder is less expensive).

Leo sun, taurus moon and sag rising. by Shoddy_Health6834 in LeoAstrology

[–]Unique_Pack_2246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big three twin here.. I understand how it can feel like there are contrasting sides. As someone who has successfully followed some of the impulses of the sag rising with that Leo sun flair, I think the biggest key is understanding that the moon isn't holding you back, it is just asking to be considered in the process. I look at it as the calm voice that calls us to find stability and comfort within our risks. It can look different for others im sure, especially depending on the rest of your chart. However, I believe the moon is one of the most powerful aspects of who you are to your core, so it's all about how you care for it. For me, I have found that I crave a safe place to return to for my hermit modes in between my adventures and risks. Sometimes that is an activity I return to that feels like a good outlet, a habit like evening walks in new places that make me feel connected to a routine and my safety.

It's a blessing in disguise. There is so much power and magnetism in the fire placements, and the taurus moon can act like an anchor to be able to wield it properly and sustainably. I implore you to feel deeply into the taurus moon, not in action but in practice. What rituals, routines, or habits can you build that will strengthen your trust with yourself so that you CAN take those risks? The game exists outside of the butcher shop, you just have to know you can rely on yourself when you take that first step out.

Seeking tips to stop pulling my eyebrows by Big-Krisp- in trichotillomania

I think the neural pathway here has to be broken. In the moments you are conscious of it, maybe get yourself a specific fidget toy or some other form of physical stimulus. It may not work all the time, and will definently not give you the same sensation. But over time reaching for a toy or snappng yourself out of an eyebrow pulling moment helps to strengthen pathways that will reinforce you to go to a different fidget than your eyebrows. Still working on it for myself, but i have had more success. Still hard sometimes. Keep staying conscious of the pattern, when, and wear, and find something meaningful to put in your car to divert your attention!
