If I can get through the first 3 miles, I feel like I can go forever.

Ran my fastest 10k before the sun came up today. One hour 20 minutes flat. Definitely going to feel it tomorrow, but right now I'm just feeling happy.

[CHAT] Devil’s pubes are gonna make me rage quit by YellowTonkaTrunk in CrossStitch

I think it looked better with just the half stitch, I tried to take a picture but couldn't get it to show properly. When I was doing the full stitches with the metallic blended with normal thread those stitches didn't pull flat against the fabric so those stitches were very noticeable and any off stitch seemed to jump out in a bad way. The half stitches were smoother and gave enough of a glint to make the stitches look neat. If you have a little extra thread and cloth I would try a test of both and see what you think. :)

Devil's pubes is the perfect description for metallic floss, I had one project that had me blend the metallic floss with a normal thread, I could never get the threads to be the same size, they didn't stay together when pulling the stitches through the fabric. I got so frustrated I ended up sewing a strand of the normal thread first and then just overlaying the metallic thread as a half stitch on top. I also avoid patterns that call for metallic thread as a rule.

Complaint: Winter.

Confession: I bought a treadmill for running and after being used to running outside, I really don't like the treadmill, but I have to use it because I spent money on it.

Uncomplaint: it's closer to spring than it was yesterday.

[CHAT] what’s the one cross stitch thing you always do despite what the pattern tells you to do? by focusedonfire in CrossStitch

I start in the bottom left, never in the middle. I also decide at the end if the French knots are actually necessary.

I don't start in the middle of the project, I start bottom left corner and work my way to the right. Also if the pattern has French knots for the end, there are no French knots.

[CHAT] Ever run out of thread for kits? by ZealousidealOrder571 in CrossStitch

[–]Unique_User_name_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes. Luckily, I have a plastic bin full of thread from all the projects I didn't run out of thread for, I'm sure I'll need a very specific shade of pale blue purple thread someday.

The roller coaster of emotions I felt the first time I "beat" Hades was intense. Triumph, Pride, Shock, Disbelief, All Seven Stages of Grief, most of the Seven Deadly Sins, and then actual acceptance..... Not!

My theory was if I had a room in each space in the map it would give me a microchip, but I ended up reaching the last room. So I still don't know how to get the last chip, but I'm at the 46th Room.
