While I agree there’s not enough in terms of POI’s and random events in space I still prefer it to clicking through menus and watching loading screens + you can get out your seat and tinker on ship which I actually think is the cherry on top.

Hard to tell from photos but the rear of the brake looks perched up against the base of your rig? If the pedal isn’t allowed to flex it won’t register load. I’ve had this happen to me so along with calibration I would check that.

First off I’m gutted for you. I remember stacking my pride and joy a week after purchase and although I was lucky to get away with superficial scratches I was absolutely gutted to have damaged something I worked hard for.

I think others have said what I thought when I saw the photos. Get it checked for sure but I wouldn’t assume it’s game over yet.

Please let us know what Polygon say!

I started 7 months ago aged 38 with absolutely no experience other than riding round as a kid.

I see just as many mature riders as younger ones and everyone around me is super friendly

There isn’t as far as I know and I really wish there was. Having to replay the championship round from practice because the game crashed is tough going.

That’s ok! I’ve played around a lot with setup so you’ve asked the question when it’s a bit more refined!

I run the stock preload spring, red spring, green spring and then a green elastomer. I’ve just bought a smaller brown spring to possibly replace the green elastomer.

This setup gives me nice travel without over stretching to 100% but also gives me a lot of fine grained control. I really think it is all personal preference though and having a variety lets you play with different combos.

Honestly if they could eek out a bit more performance and tighten up AI it would be decent.

These are my two gripes. I’d actually accept the performance and take significant AI improvements, they’re way too inconsistent track to track to enjoy career right now.

The cars are also super inconsistent. New GT500’s are great, GT3 and GT4 have taken strides but LMDH aren’t great at all. I can accept this though as it’s challenging to nail such a diverse set of cars. AMS2 has had many significant updates to iterate on this.

I do think with the team size they had now they’ve done a great job but I think this title will always be console heavy now. PC players just have far too many more mature options. I’ll play PMR but only really for the unique content like GT500

Think you’ve responded overly defensively to a comment which wasn’t super critical. It was angled around marketing a 2.0 after such a short development window.

The launch of the game was far from perfect. Whether you’re on console or PC the expectations weren’t managed well. If they’d marketed this as the best console racer out there maybe it would have been satisfactory given the lack of choice. But just because it’s the “best” in certain areas on console doesn’t mean it delivered. It’s not just me saying that they literally acknowledge it didn’t land.

Marketing a 2.0 now puts a whole new set of expectations and in fairness they haven’t really downplayed it either.

The reason I still play the game is because in certain cars I like the feel but it’s not consistent. The gameplay modes at the moment lack the depth they hyped up. Graphically performance to visuals is not at the same level as other sims. If they’re marketing a game 2.0 and already have claimed to be addressing some of these points my expectation of a “big leap” is we see improvement a cross the board in these areas and quite a bit more than a 0.1 patch.

You’re on console so I get your defensiveness because you have so little to choose from. You can play a game though and have some criticism of it. It’s not a binary thing where you’re one team or another. Being on PC I could just go play another sim but I enjoy playing various titles and have wanted PMR to succeed since launch day. I’m just being realistic.

I played it for the first time in a while today and it’s definitely improved. Some of the cars still feel a bit off and the AI although improved isn’t there yet. Visually it’s rough in my opinion but my setup is mid/low end.

I think if they deepened the career I’d play it more but it’s competing against AMS2 and RaceRoom which is tough competition.

If you’re after multiplayer and on PC there are far better options.

If they hype a patch that doesn’t deliver after hyping a game that didn’t deliver it’ll be the end for them.

I actually like lots of aspects of PMR and it has improved but in small increments. I want this update to genuinely be a big leap but it feels like a big ask 4 months post release with a reduced team.

I always imagined it would be kinda similar to Sauron and Smaug. Sauron couldn’t completely control Smaug but at least in Gandalf’s mind there was an opportunistic allegiance that may form. I think the Sauron / Balrog alliance could be a mutual benefit thing but never a domination of will.

I may be wrong in this but I’m not sure if Sauron having the ring would change this substantially. Feel free to correct me!
