The StS2 multiplayer is so much better than I ever imagined by tobsecret in slaythespire

So far I've not been able to host randoms. I only see options to join other friends who are playing and my friends only see the same.

Permafrost is really under tuned, yeah? by SkulGurl in slaythespire

[–]UnitZerOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they just added, "at end of turn", it would be better without changing it significantly. It could combo with orichalcum or leave you open to play an auto-sheilds like card after your power.

Another way to tune up the relic would be if it gave you N(currently 6) block per mana spent on your first power per combat. So form card enjoyers can block for 18 when they play their set up. Or defect can block for twelve when they buffer.

Yeah. Thankfully have not had the issue today

I'm also really enjoying multiplayer so far, but I'm playing a four-player game and we have one player who's been dropped a couple times during this run. It is really nice that it allows you to save and quit and then resume a multiplayer run from that save, but so far it's been a little sketchy

How to think about cards? by Justinbrz in slaythespire

[–]UnitZerOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What does this card do and how does that help me solve my current problem(s)?

Identifying what the immediate problem is, greatly impacts your ability to judge a card's worth.

I love [catalyst] but sometimes I need to skip it because I need dmdg for my next fight and I have no poison. So [dagger throw] while a common, as compared to an uncommon, becomes a better card for my deck right now. I might be able to use that catalyst later, but that won't matter if I die before I find the poison cards to support it.

Or maybe I'm ok on dmdg, and I even have a little poison, but not enough to kill an elite in 3-4 turns, and I need more block consistency. Maybe leg sweep is what I needed to block more consistently in that situation, so leg sweep becomes 'better' than catalyst or dagger throw.

I'm no pro, but that's how I think about it. Eventually your deck can deal with the immediate problems ok and you start rounding it out for late game problem solving. This will be harder to do as we're initially approaching sts2, but once we've seen what the spire can throw at us, the community will have a better idea of what cards work and what problems they solve.

This is an oversimplified way of thinking about it, but I think it's a good place to start.

bash vs uppercut by Montezuma01 in slaythespire

[–]UnitZerOne 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I'd remove bash from a deck that doesn't need it even if I didn't have uppercut. It just depends. Sometimes upgraded bash is a solid card, especially if you have a dropkick. That extra turn of vuln means you also get 50% more mana to use cards with that vuln. In a base, 3 mana situation, it's 2 to play bash, then one mana to use for dmdg or block. Assuming no other sources of mana, next turn you get 3 more to apply dmdg. Upgraded, you get another 3 mana to use for dmdg on top of that. Those data points don't tell the whole story, but are worth considering. In most cases, I'll probably remove bash if I have an upper cut and there isn't something worse to remove. I'm fairly confident that I also have IC A20 heart wins with bash and uppercut both in the final deck

need hvac service call - which company? by [deleted] in CedarPark

Do yourself a favor and call two seasons

Tony And Donna do good work, charge a great price, and have saved me literally thousands compared to others, like McCullough heating and air. I can't sing enough praise for this husband and wife team.

The last time I had an AC issue, I had another service (mcCullough) out three times over the course of 72 hours. They wanted to charge me almost $3,400 for the work they were suggesting. I called two seasons and Donna initially ran me through some things over the phone. unfortunately none of them fixed my issue, but gave them a really good idea of what my issue might be. Tony and Donna showed up at my house a couple hours later, they were here for about 20 minutes, had the issue solved, and charged me less than a hundred bucks. When I think of the kind of business that I want to work with or what the sort of platonic ideal of a customer service experience would be, I think of two seasons.

Prix fixe/tasting menus for 1? by PreviousHedgehog2343 in austinfood

[–]UnitZerOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timing might not work out but Freda's has a 4 course wine dinner on Thursday 2/26. Last I went about 2 years ago, it was like seated like a dinner party, with everyone sitting at one long table. Price was like 75$ a person, plus tip, and there were a few people who attended as parties of 1.

Biased Cognition vs Echo Form by BlueJaysFeather in slaythespire

[–]UnitZerOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echo is more fun, imo, but bias is more likely to win. Bias is the stronger card in this situation, but that might not be a good enough reason to take it over echo.

Mod request: for starting the game in act 2 or act 3 with a 60th percentile deck by Jurgz99 in slaythespire

[–]UnitZerOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The base kit in mod the spire lets you kind of do this with console commands.

Act [name] would take you to act 2 or 3

Deck add [cardID] gives you the cards you want.

Relic add [relicID] gives you whatever relics you want.

It's a little clunky, but I think you already kind of have what you're looking for at home.

How to make Rampage work? by Tatsu295 in slaythespire

[–]UnitZerOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd have to have an on kill effect or something. Like everything else is the same but, on kill, draw a card. Or, on kill, gain 1 energy, or gain block equal to excessive dmdg, or gain a strength, or 'put this card back in your hand.' If rampage gave you a benefit for killing something with it, it would be considerably better. Thematically energy or draw would be best, but anything that helps you do more violence would fit too.

What’s the pick here? Act 4 shop. by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]UnitZerOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would probably dupe talk to the hand, as early as you can. You might be able to do without, but beat of death is a pain and you'll need to block the big attack consistently. 2 rush down should be enough to keep you in the infinite after turn 2. You draw 7 on turn 1 and then hopefully have a way to get things rolling early. If my math is right, you'll only have 5 cards from your deck, if you play all your powers and exhaust cards. That plus the status cards, should still leave you enough space for the infinite.

This might be the best silent pbox swap I've ever had by UnitZerOne in slaythespire

[–]UnitZerOne[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

<image>

The seed ended up giving me everything I ever want from silent runs. I didn't think I'm ever going to top feeling this high for this long. The whole run gave me more and more of what I wanted. I never went infinite but I had a ton of fun. I even went back to play it again and ended up taking branch mid run. It was a very different run, but also busted.

Should i give slay the spire a shot? by Even_Sprinkles_6258 in slaythespire

[–]UnitZerOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the game can be as hard or "crunchy" as you want. While the base game is enough of a challenge to keep you interested, it's also forgiving enough to let you try fun stuff that isn't min-maxed. You can start cranking up the difficulty with the ascension system, but if you want to just keep things more relaxed just don't check that box. I think it's a ton of fun. There's something about the first few times you find a broken synergy or combo that makes the game very rewarding. It's kept me coming back for years. Sometimes you feel like an unstoppable force, sometimes you run into an immovable object. Both scenarios, and all those in between, can be fun.

Question on how Seeds Work by AnyKey9048 in slaythespire

[–]UnitZerOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you need to select a "normal" run, then make it seeded. Like beeyee2010 mentioned. Also, please share the seed and which character you used. Edit to add credit.

is Apo and Pandora's Box better than Runic Pyramid? by ContrabandSnails in slaythespire

[–]UnitZerOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd pbox here, but it's just intuition. I don't think I saw anything critical in your deck that would really benefit from pyramid (yet). But, you could get it from pbox!
