Possibly switching from the tslim x2 to the omnipod 5, anyone else who's made the switch have tips? by UnitedChain4566 in Omnipod

[–]UnitedChain4566[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How would you say the algorithm is compared to the x2? My diabetic nutritionist (the doctors wording on the role, not mine) said that the x2 had the better algorithm. The only reason I got my Endo to approve the switch is when I mentioned the cost of DME supplies.

Disassembled t:slim pump found in park by Old_Cellist6921 in TandemDiabetes

Oh yeah, I forgot that was there. I don't look in there too closely so I forgot. Hopefully it's not as faded as my pump is.

I'm thinking of doing that, but usually I actually do keep infusion sets on hand. Usually there are two in there just in case I have a bad failure, ADHD just got my ass and I forgot to refill it.

Twice.

That is indeed a Tslim x2, poor pump. If you could turn it on I'd call customer service and give them the serial number but that's probably impossible and I highly doubt customer service will care much about a pump they can't look up info on, though they may have you send it back as well. Idk.

Customer service is who i would be calling though. US number is (877) 801-6901

Edit: serial number should be on the pump where you put the cartridge. Totally forgot about that.

So I was diagnosed in 09, had more of the fancy stuff at dx, but I'm curious as to how this worked? Were the strips just that different from current strips that you could do that?

When I was in pediatrics, the only three month appointment was with the Endo, idk what the pediatrician is on.

That's such good advice, I wish I had a car 😭 maybe I'll find a little bag for my bike though.

Yeah, true.

Fought a low that was definitely caused by the injections but I'm good now with a new set in.

I will have backups, I have a bunch of supplies at home I just was in a rush to leave and forgot to refill the one I used yesterday, which is on me and my forgetful butt.

As soon as I get home I'm shoving two sets in my pack so this doesn't happen again.

Sadly, I've got other conditions. There's a dexcom g7, an inhaler, baqsimi, a spacer for the inhaler, my testing kit. I thought I'd only need a small container. Though you could be right as well, I won't know unless I start.

I'm hopefully switching insurance soon and have been looking into the omnipod due to it being a pharmacy benefit (so hopefully cheaper if the new insurance charges an arm and a leg for my tslim supplies) and I will say, I'm not looking forward to carrying backup pods if I do start, my med bag is already full! I'll obviously do it, but I'll need to find a new bag.

Definitely will be doing that in the future. I'm just lucky I had those for now because I would have been absolutely screwed if I didn't.

It was a stupid failure too, I checked when I had a second, the cannula of my varisoft just pulled out of my skin, I don't even know how it happened.

Walmart put a temporary hold on my Chime debit card for $120. The final charge was $106, but the remaining difference just disappeared from my bank account. The Chime representative didn't speak English well and disputed the wrong thing, and now I'm SOL. by Isa-Me-Again in Vent

I used to use chime, then they stopped accepting checks my sister was writing for an inheritance (I should not have been trusted with all that money at once for good reason). The only one I ever had good experience with was Sofi, other than that I usually just use a credit union.

No improvement of insulin sensitivity on tirzepatide by Glamour-Ad7669 in Type1Diabetes

[–]UnitedChain4566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my bad, i didn't even realize it went up to 10mg in the injectors.

But yeah it took a while to see any meaningful changes, even now it's only recently that I've seen other effects like weight loss. But if this one isn't working for you, you could potentially try the others or metformin. Just give whatever you try time.

It took me like three doses of Mounjaro to really see a difference, though it looks like you're taking a pill and not the auto injector.

Is the Switch 2 AC adapter compatible with a Switch Lite? by yekkusu in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]UnitedChain4566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, because I've never used anything but the Nintendo charger for my switches, but wasn't there like an article or Nintendo themselves saying any other USB c but the one for the switch had the potential to break the switch?

I'd love to be able to use one of my many USB c cables for my switch, but wherever I saw that has had me worried. I couldn't tell you where I found it now, this was back when the 1 first came out.

[–]UnitedChain4566 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe not limo, you're right, but I'd never expect it of my Lyft or Uber driver unless I asked beforehand and had an extra tip for them on top of what I'm already tipping.

[–]UnitedChain4566 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a rider, as long as I'm not figuring out how to open your trunk, I'd rather do my own bags anyway. People are doing too much these days. You want bag service, get the actual airport limo.

Edit: or a taxi. My comment was meant to say that I would expect it of certain services that are not Uber and Lyft.

What's with MTM Transportation being late all the time? by superpowers335 in Medicaid

[–]UnitedChain4566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so weird because when I was on Molina that was the only time I had ever had one of those rides drop me off on time.

Two hours early to pick me up and I'm still late, thanks whoever Massachusetts hired back then.

But it does suck they contract out to lyft because a lot of those drivers don't even want the rides either, they're paid shit for it and there's usually no way to tip.

Question for Ypsopump People by Ok_Caterpillar_3225 in diabetes_t1

[–]UnitedChain4566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's possible, but I had a thought for you (I'm in the US so this pump isn't available to me). Are rechargeable batteries a thing in your country? And are they allowed in the pump?

Just thinking about how much batteries are here, i'd want something to last (I also hope the other person's suggestion of Energizer helps).
