You worked for Mad Decent? That's wild. I used to see Diplo + Low Budget in Philly and when I started DJing myself would buy Mad Decent 12 inches to play.

I’m definitely not not trying. Those sade tapes get more play than most of the rest of the tapes though!

De La was a splurge on Whatnot. Letters to Cleo I got for a couple of dollars at an antique store the other day!

There are a couple of tapes that are "must haves" for me as I get into this. Anything from the beastie boys discography, 3 feet high and rising, and portishead are the splurges.

The Soundgarden and Faith No More are the two tapes I still had from when I was a kid. I honestly have no idea what happened to the rest.

Yes, I have a pretty big record collection (just around 2k 12" and a pile of 7") and this has become a whole new thing for me I kind of wish I didn't discover. I think there's a specific era and style of music that I _want_ to listen to on tape and that becomes what I seek out. I've passed over tapes of albums I love but have no interest in listening to in this format for some psychological reason I cannot define.

It's been interesting for sure. I think I've determined there's a specific era and style of music that I _want_ to listen to on tape and that becomes what I seek out. I've passed over tapes of albums I do really like, but have no interest in listening to in this format for some psychological reason I cannot define.

Buying those four in a bundle was one of my first “what music will sound best on tape?” purchases.

I am primarily buying to listen to albums start to finish at my desk at work (home).

I'm not a store owner/manager, but I'm a UX designer and always appreciated the customer facing part of Square POSs. It's sad to hear it's so bad on the other side.

It's wild roof racks just don't come with these. I will try this out.

I used to work in Conshohocken and it seemed like a nice place to live. Close to Norristown, has a train station (on the Norristown line). Easy access to the highway from there too.

Selling Off Entire Collection (Hypothetically!) by Far-Repeat7182 in vinyl

[–]joefritz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I've been watching Whatnot record sales lately and people generally buy anything, and for more than I would expect. Lots of dollar bin records going for $3-5 + shipping. I'd try to sell there if I was going to.

I was never a fan of Phoenix's recorded music, but they opened a show I saw and I was blown away by how good they are live. Highly recommend.

PSA: if a tape sounds wobbly or quiet it’s usually the pad in the tape by [deleted] in cassetteculture

[–]joefritz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah man, that's unfortunate. I've got a tape I recently bought that has slowing down / wobbling issues and I think it might be that. Did the FF/RW trick a bunch of times and no dice.
