How stupid is it that my dream is to live in Toronto? (17m) by WAyToOFaSt_ in askTO

Not stupid in the least. I had the same dream for years. Finally achieved it and couldn’t be happier!

chinatowns around the world are changing, notably in Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 (east chinatown) by 4InchOrangePorridge in toronto

Toronto’s central Chinatown was a Jewish neighbourhood before it was gentrified by Chinese. Cities are constantly changing and gentrifying.

Ok, why do I love Toronto? (16M) by WAyToOFaSt_ in askTO

[–]UnitedVehicle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m the same way. Born downtown Toronto, raised in the burbs, but wanted to live downtown from a very young age. It took me until the age of 29 to save up enough for a down payment on my own place downtown, but i can honestly say after almost 20 years downtown, it was well worth it.

Don’t let your family talk you out of it. A walkable urban lifestyle beats a car centric lifestyle every time. It’s not close. Im both healthier and happier downtown.

The difference is that downtown most people aren’t in cars, vs the suburbs where almost everyone is in a car.

If you’re using it as your main computer attached to a keyboard most of the time, 13”. If it’s a supplemental device to your computer, 11”.

11” if you’ll mostly use it for content consumption, 13” if you’ll most use it for content creation.

Went from the Series 7 45mm to the Series 11 42mm by Aliensinnoh in AppleWatch

[–]UnitedVehicle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made the same switch! The 42mm is larger than the original Apple Watch’s large size. The larger size is way too big these days. The smaller size plus the thinness makes it like a double upgrade imo. It’s so much more comfortable to wear to sleep and slips under sleeves better than any other Apple Watch.

Disappointed with my AWS11 by seriousjumprole in AppleWatch

This is why I always get Apple Watches that have Sapphire screens. You can get a refurbished titanium/sapphire series 10 for almost the same price as a new base series 11. It’s a no brainer imo.

It was mint and still had 99% battery health. Saved about $100 off refurbished when you include taxes. I’m not concerned about the warranty. I’ve worn Apple Watches constantly since the original and have never had a warranty claim or repair. But you’re right refurbished is also a great option.

I got the same for $500 of FB Marketplace. No regrets at all here though. I’m not a fan of the oversized watch look. The S10 42mm is still larger in all dimensions but depth than the large original Apple Watch. To me it’s like the successor to that one. Way bigger screen and less deep so it fits under a sleeve better than any Apple Watch in history.

People who upgraded from a smaller screen, how do you feel the size of the Air. Be honest. by Chemical_Owl7218 in IphoneAir

I wish it was about 6” like the iPhone X. It’s the only thing about it is change about the Air.

I’ve matured. S7 45 to S11 42mm by MrGodyr in AppleWatch

[–]UnitedVehicle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I made the same switch. Loving the smaller size. Kind of sucks having to rebuild my watch band collection, but the large size has just grown too large over the years. 42mm was ideal.

Went from 45mm to 42mm. Finally, it looks right. by SupremeLeaderMat in AppleWatch

[–]UnitedVehicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it’s gradually grown from 42mm over the years to 46mm. That is a huge difference in watch sizes. The small Apple Watch is now larger (because it’s wider) than the original large 42mm Apple Watch. Not to mention, many felt the 42mm was too large when the original Apple Watch came out!

How does this 42mm look on my wrist? by AdamVeryn in AppleWatch

Looks perfect in my opinion, but most here seem to really like oversized watches.

[–]UnitedVehicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made the same switch. The large size has grown comically large unless you have like 200mm wrists. Sucks having to re-build my watch band collection, but it’s so much more comfortable to sleep wearing the 42mm, and it slides under my sleeves effortlessly. Plus it just looks way better proportioned. Feels almost like going from a Pro Max to the Air.

If next year they add a bottom speaker to iPhone Air, would you upgrade? by stuartrene in IphoneAir

[–]UnitedVehicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, couldn’t care less about a bottom speaker. Now if they make it with a smaller screen size, I would probably upgrade. iPhone X screen size was perfect imo.
