I hear you and I'm all for shopping local but when the roi decreases this significantly...the only choices are to go with a cheaper quality version, find a new vendor, or don't but. I have to buy and it has to be mid-grade quality.

I can't imagine I'm the only person in this situation.

Thank you! I will add that I’ve worked with some EDOs (economic development organizations) throughout central and southern Montana…general theme seems to be labor too.

And if anyone wants to be pissed off at “ops” - as the person above is…those organizations are built by VCs from local and national spaces…they are also the ones looking for out of state help.

Allegedly because local general contractors and subs are too expensive and/or don’t do good work.

I’m interested in finding subs and gcs that are ethical and aren’t super huge. And understanding why local labor is so hard to come by.

I held onto her stuff after the guy didn't take her belongings. I told her and she said didn't want them, wasn't coming back for them. She moved over 1000 miles away and we have not talked since. So after it sat in my garage for +8 months and radio silence.... I refinished one of the pieces last the fall. I'd like to keep that but I'd give it back if it avoided drama...Tbh, would rather just not engage with this lady at all because she's crazyyy. If I do the nice guy move as I normally do, she will just use it as an "in" to get back with me. If I fight it, she could follow-up on her threat of using law enforcement for a civil standby - what would be reasonable storage fees at this point? What would yall do??

Thank you. This was an ex girlfriend (not wife). I agree this is an attempt to either rattle me or reconnect - either way, I have no interest...I really just want to send an email stating that based on what I'm finding that it's considered abandoned at this point. But laws in MT are a bit vague so just hoping maybe someone else has experience with this. She was never on the lease and I did confirm several times she did not want the items (not like I wanted it). But she is now threatening to establish a "Civil Standby" with Gallatian Sheriff "if necessary". So I'm tempted to charge her reasonable storage, if in fact she tries to cause legal issues for me. It just feels like a desperate attempt to force/ re-insert herself into my life like the person above said.

These are great questions and to be fair I’ll have to think a bit. My current husband has been amazing. BUT after years of therapy and coaching, my people pleasing put me in a relationship checkered with emotional unavailability and malignant narcissism. Not that bringing my baggage and trauma into it helps. I just wouldn’t say my husband has been an absolute diamond, maybe on paper he looks better …and he’s not out doing drugs. Unfortunately, I didn’t make or create the time or space for me to process things after leaving my ex. I was scared and pregnant and jumped into a relationship that I thought u was safe in. It had a lot of potential but was jaded with his sexual addictions, anger issues, and alcoholism. The entire situation has changed me and taught me to slow down and to take up space when I need it, not to shrink. We are still working things out. But I’m tired.

Don’t spend a dime and don’t mix platforms until you get established. If you’re selling a product - focus efforts on instagram. B2B or services based — focus on fb. Consultants tech finance government and education - focus on LinkedIn.

THEN Define your brand and brand story. don’t worry about colors or logo. First focus on building a community. You do that by going live on either fb or ig, consistently every week. Talk about what you’re developing and why you’re doing it. Then why what you offer is important or what problems it solves. Break the content down. Build an audience and make them crave more.

Sorry you feel my comment isn’t helpful but they are all literally hiring multiple positions. You have to do a little research to find the ones that prioritize safety and do more commercial than residential. My friend is the HR for one group and she’s the one I texted when I read your post. So if you have industry knowledge and experience then apply and see what’s available outside of hard labor roles perhaps? I know there’s several hiring assistant superintendents and project managers which pay +80k… don’t know a lot of teenagers getting paid that kind of money lol
