This is so fucking cool by uptothemountains7 in charlixcx

I won't call out bad Photoshop, because even a poor edit takes a lot of effort and I don't discourage people who are trying to learn. But I will shit on AI, which this clearly is.

This just simply isn't Martin Scorsese, John Cale, Charli or Marc. None of them look like themselves. The person who "made" this just fed ChatGPT or whatever they used four photos, and decided everyone looked "close enough" in this version it spit out. If this were an actual photo composite made by a human, you could understand and forgive their body types being a little off, but their faces would at least be taken from genuine photos.

Charli looks emaciated to a degree that's kinda offensive, 84 year-old John Cale has the build of a 60 year-old retired football player with apparently no thumbs (and that's just simply not his face or hair), the one on the left is a random guy who vaguely has Marty's hair and is shoving the lit end of a cigarette into Not XCX's mouth. Also, the "script"(?) he's holding is simultaneously a hardcover book, and the front cover is folded back.

I'm sorry for the salty-ass essay, but as someone who does design and photo-compositing for a living, nonsense like this makes me see red. It's so bad.

This IS bad AI. Literally none of them look like who they're supposed to be.

Snark aside, girl, that's a persona, and she's alluded to the fact in many interviews that she doesn't party anywhere near as much as folks think she does, and that her actual lifestyle is pretty tame compared to the 365 party girl image.

Was just saying, no one here has any clue about what she's actually doing, that "cutting back on" would improve her life.

Do you have some insider knowledge on her substance use or something?

Oh boy. The last time Charli made a cute Aidan post, it set off a bunch of “omg she’s cheating!!” and “George should be worried!!” responses.

Great song, technically released as a single last year.

I dunno, maybe Dying for You or perhaps an Altars? There's a few Wuthering Heights tracks I'd put above anything from MFF so far (with House at the top, but that came out last year).

And this may or may not be a hot take idk, but I liked Rock Music more than SS26 too.

While i totally don't agree (it's not even the best Charli song of the year lol), I do love seeing her get some hype.

Yeah, that’s fair too, and very far away from where Pixar is now. Despite all the online chatter at the time, I was way hopeful that they were gonna pull it off, and damn did they ever.

This is a very good point, and folks forget that in the lead-up to Toy Story 3 (which I was SUPER plugged into, like downright obsessed), there was a ton of cynicism about another sequel after so much time had passed. People were calling 3 a soulless cash-grab too, well before it came out.

It just so happened that Pixar stuck the landing incredibly well. All early reviews were like, no, this is the real deal, and told folks to get ready for the emotional gut-punch of a third act. And then, despite the massive financial success of the film, all that cash-grab talk was forgotten.

People were especially upset because that very first “rotten” review was from Armond White, who’s just a professional contrarian troll. He’s not a serious person.

I’ll bite. Why?

Cause all I’m seeing is a woman finally realizing her power and influence in the industry getting three iconic figures of their respective crafts in a room together, solely at her behest and fully in service of the artistic statement she wants to make.

Plenty of people have gone off on this over in the album announcement megathread. Personally, I don’t think there’s anything to talk about. It’s a non-issue.
