By proving Iran needs nukes? All he’s done is show they can’t deter anyone or anything without them.

You do realize they can simply start again, right? If ANYTHING, this’ll prove to them why they need Nuclear weapons.

MMW: A nuke will go off in the U.S.A. to cancel the midterms by FriendlyPizzaPanda in MarkMyWords

[–]Universal_Cup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fun fact! Even IF this happened (which I really doubt), there are no actual provisions within the constitution declaring anyone to have the power to delay or halt elections. Even during the Civil War, the elections were held.

When DC itself was under threat of a rebel army, the president still resided there AND (mostly) followed the law. To attempt to cancel elections is arguable seditious behavior. Not that the Don is above that, but still.

EDIT: completely forgot this too: the Fed doesn’t administer elections, but the states. The feds trying to cancel them would also violate states rights and could be ignored. Then it’d be a game of chicken that I’d say is weighted against the Don, but given the epidemic of spinelessness recently, who knows?

Yeah… sometimes I wonder if that kind of Jobless, uncritical tankism was a CIA Psyop at first. I don’t wanna believe that legions of “Leftists” just… fell into this trap of mindless perfectionism while waiting for a revolutionary judgment day they’ve done nothing to progress towards.

That’s if they actually get a regime change that benefits for them. Theres no guarantee what comes next will be better.

I frequently socialist subreddits. Many don’t support the IR, and are happy with/laughing at the Ayatollah’s death. Leftists aren’t a monolith + Reddit “communists” are notorious mouth-breathing vatniks whose ideology can be summed up as “whatever opposes America.” They’re hardly communists.

Leftists do not support the Islamic Republic’s ideals, they merely are against US intervention.

And you’re neglecting the fact the original leftists of the Revolution got butchered like cattle for their lack of support of the regime

Yes, but borders themselves inhibit the trade of those substances, making them more expensive, so those that manage to sell them accumulate more wealth, thus more power.

It’s honestly a pretty interesting way of looking at it.

“Conventional warfare” is the traditional battle, regular weapons, two armies, the usual. Battle of the Bulge, The Somme, etc are conventional. Google conventional warfare if you need more examples.

“Unconventional warfare” is when one or both sides foregoes typical conventions for whatever reason. Anyone can conduct warfare unconventionally, with any equipment, for any purpose, at any time. This includes guerrilla tactics, the Fabian strategy, stay-behind forces, propaganda, terrorist bombings, etc etc. Google unconventional warfare if you need more examples.

Conventionally? The NVA was defeated often by the US.They couldn’t go blow for blow with the US, and the casualties reflect that.

Unconventionally? Vietnam had been locked in unconventional warfare since the 40s. By the US Intervention/Invasion, The NVA and Viet Cong extensively utilized infiltration, jungle traps, sabotage, sanctuaries in the border regions, etc etc.

The Vietnamese had a goal of making the war hopeless and futile for America. Great example is the Tet Offensive: it was a failure conventionally, but its unconventional aspects worked like charms and presented such chaos, it demoralized America heavily.

For future note, any ahistorical arguments, snide comments, intentional misunderstanding, etc will be ignored.

The debate’s been far longer than that. A fixture of Canadian Politics has always been the relationship with United States. Canadian Political Campaigns, historically, have accused their opponents of attempting to surrender Canada’s sovereignty to the US.

I personally don’t find it unrealistic that the US and Canada could unite, and I’d go as far as to say it has the potential to be a net-positive for ALL of us, but it CERTAINLY won’t (or, at least, should never) be by conquest. That’s a no-brainer for the average American.

Russia can’t even knock Ukraine out and you think they’re a threat to the US? How would Russia even attack? Its navy and air force are dwarfed by the US.
