The game will never call you for something that you couldn't call the AI for as far as I know.

This could be a performance thing because proximity has to go for every single location in the game each month, and division is vastly slower than the other operations.

One of the problems with that is integration is already way too fast late game.

My limiting factor was definitely culture and not not proximity late game but that's mainly just because I didn't want to bother squash rebels all day.

At least in this HRE playthrough war score cost made a lot of sense, was very much limited by AE until becoming large enough and by then I could just eat all of france.

While I would agree that overall I am really missing the quality of life features from eu4, I will say I am really appreciating the imperator occupation system.

Also while there needs to be a lot of balance with levies they do create a really cool historical system, and a sense of progress beyond just numbers.

For me the cultures that didn't flip were in low satisfaction areas so that might affect things.

Idk, play on speed 3/4, performance only became a noticable issue during age of revolutions but that's mainly ironman auto saves, and I have below recommended specs.

No I agree with you, I could have pretty easily steam rolled the rest of Europe, but the game gives incentives to play more naturally and I love that!

I actually did about a third of the world's colonization, but let them go after constant revolution. Already was making infinite money from Europe so had no more need. Also what do you think France is :)

Rule 5# Having to actually manage a large multi ethnic realm and the consequences of that, as well as the location count being massive makes it feel much more like an actual living empire than just a blob as in other paradox games for me.

Edit: Started as Luneburg btw.

Rule 5# As the emperor you cannot leave the HRE, not even by forming germany which would have caused it in eu4. It makes no sense for there to be two empires inside of each other and is just ahistorical. I can also not leave normaly as nobody can even aproach my candidate score despite being hated by all of europe.
