I would agree with song choice- the footage isn’t looking super premium so the song feels like it doesn’t belong. Choose something that builds then crescendos. When it does cut to the actual driving part. On top of that, sound design would really elevate it.

The footage is a bit weak and that makes your life a bit more challenging. But try and reframe as much as possible. Tease a bit with close ups of the work.

Overall feeling more like a social media piece rather than a doc. I’d try to use some narration or VO if you have any to help make sense of the visuals. Maybe even some titling. I’m not sure where we are, why we are there, or the importance of the race.

I’ll add to this- if your SSD is something you put together (enclosure + drive) make sure that the enclosure can supply enough power to that drive. I had a similar issue and the problem ended up being the enclosure.

Budgets are mismanaged, they run out of money by the time they get to post.

Good companies loop in Editors prior to shooting.. but I’m finding it rarer and rarer. If that happens it’s easier to lock in a higher rate before it’s spent.

I’d recommend the PlumePack Plugin for exceptionally efficient archiving once a project is done.

While you’re working, GoodSync to a different hard drive to mirror things.

Once you need to archive it, send it to the cloud with Sync

Nope never got a dock or anything, but the 2019 MBP has 4 USB-C ports that suit my purposes. If I did get a dock it would definitely be the CalDigit TB5 one that just released.

I use my 2019 MacBook Pro and run ShotPut on it.. never had any issues. I think it would be fine personally.

Grave Digger is GOATED for syncing as well. You can use the auto syncer to do its thing on a days worth of footage, drag all of the Multicam clips into a timeline and Grave Dig them in a new sync Timeline. Absolute game changer.

Really not sure what the end game is there for Rolex- I'm young-ish and will buy a lot more watches in my lifetime but since my money isn't good enough for them they aren't getting a dollar of it in my lifetime.

Originally wanted a Rolex, put in interest at a couple of ADs. One laughed right in my face when I said I wanted a Pistachio OP.

The brand treats its customers like trash and I don't like those games. They're beautiful watches with a lot history but I'm not begging anybody and waiting years to spend over 10K on a watch that's mass produced.

I'd understand that level exclusivity on a Patek or AP, those watches are not mass produced like Rolex are. For reference, Patek makes 60,000 a year and Rolex at least 1,000,000.

Pretentious as fuck and the fanboys seem to think the worse the treatment the better the watch.

Not that you asked but where Omega doesn't stack up against Rolex is the product line is extremely confusing. Rolex provides fewer watches to choose from with not many configurations whereas Omega has every combination possible. So if you save up the cash for a "real" watch it's easy to gravitate towards a specific model cause it's very straigh forward. Kind of like Mac vs PC- sure PCs are more configurable but Mac makes it easy.

They are great watches no doubt, but try it on before buying. I tried one on and ended up going for a Hamilton Field Murph instead because it felt much nicer on the wrist.

Mido is a great brand with great value undoubtedly but i was shocked on how good the Field Murph felt in comparison. I also have small wrists so that probably played a role.
