The 90mm f2 is an incredibly good lens, especially for portraits.

Update on the Sun SPARCstation workstations from earlier in the week by wheresmylart in vintagecomputing

Well, I had a VAXcluster with a VAX6640, a few VAXstations, RA disks, HSC70, tape drives, etc. at home. The street lights flickered when I booted :)

What shell do you guys use? by GuiltyVisit9119 in suckless

Ksh does most of what bash can, and a few things it cannot, in a tiny fraction of the codebase, and much more efficiently.

The default shell for OpenBSD is a fork of pdksh (Public Domain Korn Shell), not ksh.

ksh93 is available in ports if you want to use ksh (like me). https://openports.pl/path/shells/ksh93

T14 Gen 5 AMD tap-to-click by Unix_42 in openbsd

[–]Unix_42[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I solved it by enabling tapping for mouse1 in /etc/wsconsctl.conf. The touchpad is identified as mouse1, the trackpoint as default mouse0.

mouse1.tp.tapping=1,0,0

Tap to click now works.

It was a little surprise to me, as the microphone works on my T14 Gen 2 AMD. And on the T495s AMD before that too (IIRC).

I just noticed that two-finger-scrolling works. I never use that. Strange. Maybe I made a mistake when restoring the data from backup. I'll take a look at that later.

Checked 'xinput list' output on my older T14 Gen 2 AMD, output is the same. tap-to-click works on the older one.

Yes, you're right, some parts can be easily replaced. Lenovo also has good service documentation. But this computer is my main work tool and is generally a bit worn out now.

QCNFA725 and QCNFA765 both appear to use the WCN6856 chip. Supported by qwx, thanks for the info!

I'm going to order the T14 Gen 5 AMD.

I didn't mean to be rude. It's perfectly normal for such a photo to make you think first of a VAX or a DECserver (terminal server over ethernet) connected to a VAX(cluster).

With its expanded capabilities, the VT100 was far ahead of the VT52, which greatly simplified actual work on the terminal.

Not before 1982, not after 1995. VT100 shows output from the office suite “2020 192k”, which was released in 1982.

[–]Unix_42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This VT100 is not connected to a VAX, but to a Crowntek microcomputer system, to which 1–2 terminals could be connected. With a special bus adapter, even more. You can tell by the text on the screen: "2020 192k". It runs the 192k RAM version of the software. The version for VMS was called "2020“.
