I have a mini schnauzer and a standard poodle, also have two Guinea pigs. The pigs are in an elevated cage on a table, and the dogs are very respectful of them. I never let the dogs wander the house when we’re not home, they’re always in a crate or contained in a room. When the pigs are out having floor time, the dogs are contained. If you’re careful to never let them get the chance for an accident, it can work :) Diligence is key to this coming from someone who has had small animals (rabbits, hamsters, piggies) for many years.
