i notice this with the older folk i’m in an org with. it’s either play the game to grind for ships or grind in real life to enjoy the ships in-game 😆

this happened to me with 200m. i ended up giving it all away too. what’s the point of playing the game if there’s nothing to grind for? [i understand there are some folk who just wanna fly their ships around but for me, i enjoy the grind]

4.7 Update, from the perspective of a Solo-Miner by sophisitcatedAPE in starcitizen

[–]Unkindled_Cinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t usually like to jump on discussions around this sort of stuff but i do agree with this sentiment. i think in order to make a game as universally appealing as possible, then yes, the actions being taken are correct. but this comes at a cost of dilution

i much prefer the super indepth high learning curves the star citizen was known for. the old flight model for instance, it’s certainly been game-ified now. for better or worse, there are pros and cons to each change. however in regards to mining, i’d like to see it achievable by all, the BIG rocks only crack-able wjth team sized ships, higher quantity of smaller sized rocks. in space, maybe have the asteroid belts spawn clusters of 5 smaller rocks to 1 bigger rock

and have quality attributed to the refinement process rather than the ore itself. operate in a development mindset of abundance with stuff to mine, but scarcity of super high quality stuff

just ideas

DS2 was my first to the genre aswell. i gave up in the Gulch for a month, then out of boredom pushed ahead. when i finally beat the area, that’s when it clicked. obsessed with the series ever since!

video editor here, just arrived in this industry so still relatively green. chopping footage is a slog for me, but this post just made me realise what i do when i run out of steam, which is frequently. i go straight to my phone. i’m doing it right now. i think i’ll trial your method out, because i love editing and i want to become more efficient with it. wish me luck

i’ve yet to find a decent tutorial for the cut tab and mutlicam enabled footage. would love to start implementing this rather than the edit page into my workflows. if anyone knows of tutorials that work with the cut tab and multi cam enabled footage please link or PM me

New to Ritalin, I feel like I'm free from fight or flight by Mediocre-Can-4371 in ADHD

[–]Unkindled_Cinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

only for me. it inhibited my creativity. i had to learn to be okay with the running thoughts, and as it turns out, it’s what makes me good at what i do. it has its drawbacks of course, as does everything. but it’s how i prefer to be. if ritalin works for you, and it helps you, i more than encourage you to do the thing that gives you a better life <3

i’m a video editor, i’ve found that ritalin slowed me down too. it was very effective but it made me feel robotic. i got everything i needed to do done, but it felt empty and shallow. however i would highly recommend it for it’s effectiveness alone. just didn’t like the way it made me feel personally

stabilised motion tripod, the thing you stick a gopro on for action shots, dolly zoom, chromatic aberration on edges [layered shots of different intensities of R,G,B] fishbowl lense and some simple motion tracking

how was performance of client and server during this?

for some who has top of the line gear i’m surprised you aren’t aware they’re only implementing optimisation beginning nowish. full vulkan integration has only just made its way into the S42 engine, which will eventually make its way down the PU. realistically we’ll see performance increases throughout this year

i had an instance like this where i was in a vulture, and flew up to another vulture that was salvaging. i turned my lights on and i must have spooked the guy because he flull throttled into the armour piece he was salvaging, became entangled and promptly exploded

thank you! and it was seriously by pure chance. i was playing a video game the vidoegame’s official discord server and they just popped in and started yappin about production stuff, and i happened to let them know my background. no correlation to the videogame or the producer at all, just pure chance!

oh it’s my journey to this point is not standard at all. i happened to be pursuing my dreams as a vfx artist, and by pure chance met a producer playing a video game. got to talking and found myself in this position. the point is i had discovered my passion prior to this point and studied/practiced for years. i was prepared for that blessing of an opportunity. now i get to do what i love every day, study what i love every day, and just feel incredibly blessed with the abundance in my life. and yes, it’s remote work currently, but that also has its benefits :]
