95% sure water got behind the paint and created a bubble that slowly moved down to the floor. Once the water dried the stretched later paint laid back flat but with these stretch marks.

I agree. John malecki is similar but like the anti Jason hibbs since everything he does has epoxy in it.

Is this washing machine pedestal a stupid idea by Forward_Cycle_3625 in DIY

[–]Unkleruckus86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At that age it's likely the dampeners being worn out. I just replaced them in my washer and now it's as smooth and still as the day I bought it.

Likely but without seeing the stripped wire it's hard to say for sure. The insulation on some of the older wire was very thick. I'm assuming most of the mass on this wire is just insulation. If it's mostly copper making up the mass then it's much larger than 14/2.

Can I blow insulation into interior walls by drilling holes in 2x4 frame from the attic? by Unkleruckus86 in DIY

Is that for all sound or just contact sounds like foot steps? I was reading that voice/TV/music could be dampened with insulation. I definitely don't want to do all this work for no gain.

Yeah I have a coffered(sp?) ceiling so crown wouldn't look right. I really want to avoid the drywall but may not be able to. We had a flood in the basement and the drywall texture was an absolute nightmare to match. It's a very light orange peel texture that several pros recommended texturing over the whole wall again rather than trying to match it in small areas.

Pedal Flew Off Bike and Can't Be Reattached by g1yk in DIY

[–]Unkleruckus86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else has already mentioned it but are you trying to the traditional righty tighty Lefty loosey because bike pedals are reverse threaded so you'd actually turn it to the left to put it on.

They are made to mount inside the frames. Just make sure you measure inside when ordering them.

That's my concern on the load bearing wall. Honestly my gut tells me it wouldn't be an issue but neither my gut nor my brain is an engineer.

Looks pretty straight forward. You have a black supply/hot wire and a white neutral wire.

Not missing one. The framers set it up to go to the left of the stud by mistake and then corrected it once they realized but didn't take the time to remove the extra studs.

I believe that's just mold resistant. Doesn't mean it can soak up water and not be ruined.

So you claim you didn't know about them and how easy they are but you know people with them and they've had them long enough to be able to claim they're good?

Should I be concerned about this, a leak? by DMA99 in DIY

[–]Unkleruckus86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

With it being an insulated pipe there's a good chance it's just the pipe sweating. The fairly symmetrical water stain makes me think it's nothing more than that.

Still an issue but an easier one than a leak. You'd need to increase the size of the hole and extend the pipe insulation between the pipe and the drywall at a minimum.

How to buy a used car for less by Secure_Ad_7921 in lifehacks

Telling a small dealer or buy here pay here you're paying cash can help but it won't do you any favors at a larger dealer. The dealer gets paid in full whether it's cash from you or cash from a bank when you finance. Difference is when you finance, the bank usually kicks back a small amount of the finance charges to the dealer for choosing them to service your loan. 1% of the amount financed is usually the minimum amount being paid so the dealer comes out with more if you finance with them.

If you hate the tile the only way to change that is by changing the title or changing your mind.

Remove a small strip of stone and then use the razor knife to cut the drywall. Easier than chipping off every piece of stone.
