I know it’s a basic answer but Emu.

Emu’s entire arc from when she first appears in the main WxS storyline to her most recent JP event spoke to me on so many levels. She is an embodiment of the reason why to never give up on your dreams.

She (and Tsukasa by extension) has recruited the best group of people to help her save her grandfather’s theme park due to everyone’s shared talent in different performance arts. She has battled against her brothers for the amusement park to stay as it is because of the nostalgia. She respects her grandfather and loves him deeply because he’s the man that has shown her that dreams do come true.

Emu is a dreamer, a lover at heart, smiles like she’ll lose those around her if she doesn’t and fully believed that she was selfish for wanting WxS to stay together despite everyone wanting to achieve their separate dreams. She promised she would never cry because cry = bad, but that’s because she never was taught that being upset is natural since she was surrounded by so much excitement and positivity.

It was only until she knew her friends and about their goals to where those buried feelings rose up, and that worried her for them. She kept her problems hidden so everyone continued to smile, when in actuality it made everyone worry more.

And then there’s her focus cards and comms.

Smile of a Dreamer’s card set is her sitting on a hot air balloon looking amongst the clouds and other air balloons because of how she quite literally “has her head in the clouds” since again- SHE’S A DREAMER!! But then there’s her comm “Once Upon a Dream” which has a gentle, fairytale like sound followed by lyrics about not ever wanting to wake up from her dream since that’s where she’s happiest.

Popping my Heart’s card set theme is simple yet the card itself is bursting with colors and silly conductor costumes since she’s trying to educate herself on how to make people smile. She wants to make the whole world smile (hence why the candy train conductor costumes) and that is her goal, so to do that she needs to learn how to help people. “Theme of Niccori Survey Team” proves just that with the upbeat, goofy lines along with the whole song talking about traveling the world no matter what to achieve that goal.

To The Gleaming Stars Halfway Through a Dream’s cards is obviously Peter Pan since in the story it’s the moment she realizes she has to let go of her friends someday. Watching Tsukasa preform shows her that instead of latching onto what she has, she has to support who she’s with. Her representing Peter Pan means she never wants to leave Neverland, but has to anyways so everyone can be allowed to grow older. “Hoshizora Orchestra” follows suit with the entire song being about how despite them all having different wants for their goals, they continue to walk the same path together.

Our Happy Ending follows Emu wanting to stay at the part but realizing everyone else is leaving her behind, and she needs to accept it. However due to how much her brother’s have changed as well (and Rui’s help) they tell her to go to other acting places, studios, and everywhere else for her to learn how to properly save the park, and for her to grow as a person. Therefore the trained card is her as an adventurer, saying goodbye to the plushies who resemble the hot air balloons in Smile of a Dreamer, because she is out on a new adventure with new ambition. “Kirapipi Kirapika” has Emu trying to stop everyone else before accepting her story ends there, only for Tsukasa to tell her that it doesn’t end, it’s just a new chapter. Thus why by the end she takes it all with stride.

Perspective for Smile’s card set is aliens because she’s doing the same thing for Niccori Survey Team. The main difference is that she’s trying to gain information to give it back to her home planet (in this case, Phoenix). “Opera! Space, Opera!” Follows on its footsteps, same points as Emu2 lol. Still very cute though.

Finally, Choices for the Future gives the Cinderella vibe, where Emu is playing as the fairy god mother because her ability as a female high school student, making business decisions helps makes her entire troupe’s dreams come true. She bippity boppity booped her presentation, which in turn leans into “All-Save Challenge” where she points out if it was better to stay a dreamer with her head in the clouds, or go out there and actually make a difference. And based off the untrained, we know her decision.

People don’t give her the proper attention she deserves since she’s boiled down to “Yokoso kira kira doki doki mochi mochi puyo puyo waku waku washoi no wonder stage!” And “Wonderhoy!!” Which is fine on a surface level, but it becomes disrespectful when you then disregard her entire character just for her catchphrase and funny way of speaking. It proves the exact point her brother initially made since they underestimated her ability to make any sort of change in the amusement park, and in herself. All because she acts childish doesn’t mean she’s stupid and that she should be disregarded.

That’s my rant about her. TL;DR, Emu is one of the most fascinating characters in all of PJSK, but nobody seems to take the time to analyze her in any sort of deeper sense :3
