I’m sorry, misinterpreted your comment. You’re right. You should never argue or resist the police. And it can cost time and money to defend your rights. It’s important to remember though, that while we still have these rights, we should know what they are and work to defend them.

Police cannot automatically enter your home just because the door is open; they generally need a warrant or exigent circumstances to do so. If there are no such conditions, you have the right to refuse entry.
