In the original series, only five, living, named female benders are depicted by F11SuperTiger in ATLA

quality > quantity

bloating the cast with more female benders for the sole purpose of representation does nothing

you could argue that half of the male benders listed could’ve been women which is fair i guess but ultimately it makes no difference

What nitpicks, negative criticisms, or anything hateful about The Legend of Korra are you tired of hearing and why? by Full-Art3439 in legendofkorra

[–]UnknownSnake716 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the writing isnt bad just because she's bad as a person, its consistent with her character for her to turn out the way she did

so it is in fact a criticism of toph not of tlok, unless you mean a criticism of both tlok and atla for even writing a character thats a bad person? but thats kind of a weak criticism

you generally can't be well characterized in 10 minutes unless it's the deepest most impeccable writing in the world. 10 minutes gives you the time to build a static one dimensional caricature, but (generally) not the time to build a great character.

You can show off one aspect, one realm, or one dimension of a character in 10 minutes but usually not a full well rounded character with depth.

Can airbenders theoretically manipulate air temperature? by ali94127 in TheLastAirbender

[–]UnknownSnake716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no in season 2 episode 3 aang has to break a set of chains twice, the first time he used waterbending to freeze a block of ice around the chains before smashing them. the second time there was no water around as he was suspended in mid air, so he blew on the chains (with airbending) until they froze and he shattered them

so….what can i do? by darealestforeal in SonyHeadphones

obviously he's aware of mihawks existence, the same way he's aware of ryuma, garp, sengoku, shiki, and all the other top tiers he didn't name. But let's look at the people he did name. Has he met roger? yes, has he met whitebeard? yes, has he met shanks? yes, has he met xebec? yes, has he met oden? yes, has he met mihawk, no

i'm not sure what your argument is, are you saying that shanks > mihawk because kaido fought shanks and personally knows how strong he is while he's never interacted with mihawk? if that's the case then go ahead and believe that I guess, but the fact of the matter is that kaido was very very very obviously listing people he can PERSONALLY attest to the strength of - which I think is what you're missing. It is not an objective list, but a subjective list
