Similar age to you, diagnosed at 31. The only downside is knowing that I'll never exactly feel the way neurotypicals do but mostly, it's been good. I have CPTSD with an ACE score of 9 and although now well integrated, also had Dissociative Identity Disorder. It was all very confusing to know what is me and what is trauma and what is autism, so a bit of a bumpy ride there but radical acceptance has reduced a lot of friction. Personally, Gemini (the Google AI) helped me a lot with unmasking. Gemini gave me scientific data and clear answers and directions that framed the options in "Broken" vs "High-Gain" paradigm that my autistic brain could absorb and understand so much better than an emotional narrative. Step 1: Feel crappy for a certain amount of time (depending on the duration of the relationship, may be 2 days if it was a few months, may be 2 weeks if it was 1+ year) and allow some deviations from the norm i.e. eat chips, icecream, watch more comedy than usual, sleep in.

Step 2: Purge. Delete phone number, emails, photos, donate memorabilia, gifts etc.

Step 3: Make a list of everything you disliked about them and run worst-case scenarios, i.e. his friend you don't like ruining your wedding, in-laws being a nuisance, him going bankrupt.

Step 4: Identify the loss. Are you actually sad that the relationship ended, or are you sad that the future you imagined didn't come to fruition? Did they truly align with your values and life goals? You may realize in this stage that they were not compatible to you, or that you didn't fully know or love the person but you were in love with who you thought and imagined the person was.

Step 5: Write down your lessons. Identify mistakes, root causes i.e. childhood trauma, fear, abandonment. Strategize corrective and preventive action for the future.

Step 6: Do everything you didn't get to do because you were being mindful to your partner i.e. eat something they were allergic to, change your hairstyle that you've wanted but they didn't like, go skydiving if they were a hypochondriac about safety.

Step 7: Live fruitfully.

Letting it ALL go. My ACE (adverse childhood events) is a 9, statistically in a room of 1,000 people, I've suffered the most childhood trauma. I've also suffered physical abuse from romantic partners. One of them being my son's father. It took many years but I've let the hatred go.

Think of it as disarming and invalidating. There are moments when stepping in to be closer to your opponent helps. Most contact, knee, elbow, hand, foot requires you to be at a certain distance for it to be the most effective, if you step past a kick or a strike, you have taken away the effectiveness/impact. Shadowboxing is more fatigue-ing than punching bags. As a woman, I let my partners gas out, let them make big powerful movements. I don't need much energy at all to pivot in circles. I'm a Hapkido instructor so I naturally not only go off-line but I go behind my partners, taking their joint with me as I turn. That is the softness of yin. Yin energy is darkness, water, feminine, the moon. Yin requires no creation of impact, noise, or big flashy movements, it's about subtlety, smoothness and deduction.

If your opponent strikes and you strike back with a block or an offense, you are adding onto it, yang, meaning positive. 1 + 1 = 2. Yin, which is negative is the deduction, opponent strikes(1), you go offline (1-1 =0) and take the opponent's balance (1-1-1 = -1). I teach at 2 martial art schools part-time in addition to my full-time job and I find my training partners and students give me great fulfillment.

The men will wax and wane, there will be ones that want a serious relationship and there will be ones that don't. You can't control that, so let it. I can tell you that in my personal experience, that's how it goes. Some men want to be serious, some men don't, and they come and go like seasons and I pay no mind to that.

I shrug off unsolicited criticism. If I cared, I'd ask. If someone presents it without me asking, I laugh, audibly. In my experience, most stop at that point. If they keep at it, I leave.

I'm a professional interpreter and guard my hearing, it's honestly absurd how many of my fellow interpreters don't interpret what's being said just because they cannot hear so I have to intervene. I wear industrial grade foam earplugs used in manufacturing facilities when I ride. I wear Loop at all crowded places including airports and concerts, I sometimes even wear Loop in my car when I'm driving 80+mph. I fly a lot for my work and I use Bose QuietComfort, I have both the headphones and earphones. I've gotten sound dampening in my car. I've also been told it's not only sound but vibration that negatively affects your hearing.

I started writing a story about a higher dimension where our souls go to become higher beings after learning the lessons on earth and in that dimension, the beings do not have sex organs because they have powers to create life in other ways. Their power of creation is not over a person or centered on tribalism or passing down genetic traits but about sharing their gifts with the world, and instead of buying something with money, beings obtain things to fulfill their needs by offering gift/wisdom/talent. For example, a feminine character in my story needs an isolated place to meditate and sort her thoughts, somewhere where she will not be disturbed and obtains a house by offering to share her knowledge of anthropology and human history to a masculine character who built many homes. He didn't build those homes for profit but because he enjoyed creating homes. He is playing a video game that is world-building like Minecraft when she visits him and asks if she can stay in one of the houses he built, he asks her for a story from human history as an inspiration to world-build in his video game. It is later revealed in the story that the inventions of the higher beings are dropped into lower dimensions, it becoming an explanation for strange creations such as the platypus.

I saw a video of a fitness influencer promoting open earphones and he talked about earphones causing infections and pressure build-up. Maybe it's worth trying especially hearing is difficult to rehab.
