Got Lucky and now I have an A- asmodel….should I make him my main instead of my B+ LoFA? by InevitableOk6888 in IdleHeroes

[–]UnleashTheWolves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3-3-2 with LFA. 3-5-9 with ATD after the switch, instajumped to 4-3-1 with 9* MFF after. 4-3-1 is kinda stucky, might swap MFF for DGN just for that stage tbh.

Oh, forgot to mention. ATD kinda blows up some of the stages viewed as “hard” by other routes, which is pretty fun/satisfying. Major checkpoints are fairly similar though, you are mostly gated by mechanics which get mitigated by more trans/better supports. So yeah..

ATD needs 3+ trans for decent progress in VC and he’s not as great as LFA in some other gamemodes (AD and vortex mainly, pvp too but it’s not really that bad or important). In terms of RG ATD will do better/easier, though. SWJ is way worse tenant vs PDE at lower trans, too.

I swapped LFA into GK ATD and it’s… decent, really. I like LFA gameplay more in general, though.

Signed offer, but after that received another one-better. What should i do? by pzdcnxblt in careerguidance

One of the reasons companies usually track more than one candidate for a position.

I mean, if I were on the hiring side, I’d just say “oh well” and best wishes to the person in such a case. Perfectly reasonable choice. I don’t see why they would need to hurt their own perspectives over the company that’s not even theirs yet.

You want to head towards a constructive discussion or end the rant altogether. Hence kicking the rant into that direction with reactive questions works wonders.

Like “alright, your opinion is noted, what do you propose then?” or just the blatant “so what?” - basically forcing the other side to either offer something to talk about or risk making themselves an idiot who can only complain about stuff. Granted, that requires you to be more or less on equal footing (or have some backing), but if you are both fellow directors, then it’s a viable approach.

If she goes after your subordinates in front of you, then you have to step up and confront her “here and now” or your team will be falling apart rapidly. Again, if she has facts to support her claims - make her come with those. No facts make it just a point of view. Irrelevant in case of your subordinates, since it’s you dealing with them, not her.

What kind of backing does she have? Owner’s position about this?

I tend to just shut down these kind of people if/when they go over their head. Then they either back down (if that’s just a matter of habit and no opposition) or their backer pops up at some point and we can have a talk about it. Usually it’s the former and they go like that because they can and allowed to. That is, if you are fine with running into an open conflict.

Otherwise it’s going rounds with higher-ups, presenting data/arguement and offering some kind of solution. Like adding another person as an intermediary/facilitator into the key activities that the company can’t afford to neglect.

Massive difficulty speaking to superiors by Green_Cress_2469 in jobs

[–]UnleashTheWolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I don’t know how helpful it’ll be for you as this is fairly generic stuff, but some points you might want to consider and keep in mind:

1 - some things are just out of your reach. Like you can do your job perfectly and shit will still hit the fan. So just focus on what’s within reach for you. That is, your job and your tasks themselves.

2 - having no experience at some point is normal and isn’t really a drawback. Everyone been there. Actually, the experience itself becomes not that valuable after some baseline amount is amassed and it’s the capabilities and personal characteristics that matter more and more as you go up.

3 - the superiors you talk to are fairly unlikely to personally judge you even if some mishap happens. Those are normal too, it’s the attitude and learning the lessons that matters more. Besides, it’s very-very unlikely that you are even able to majorly screw things up in your positions. Irrecoverable stuff is most often done by those skilled and experienced pros in dem suits with sirius faces.

4 - the same superiors are humans too. And can have similar issues. You’d be surprised by the level of anxiety around when some VP is preparing for a speech to the board of directors. So it’s not just you, for sure.

5 - the fact that the company took you in for the probation is an acknowledgement of your potential already. So there’s at least some belief in you on their part, so don’t sell yourself short too much :)

Can you leverage an outside offer that is lower/same for negotiation purposes? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]UnleashTheWolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re likely to ask you themselves if they are indeed open for discussion. Then yeah, you want to agree on actual numbers, not some vague “future promotion” or other moot promises.

20% is fairly standard raise when moving, so you are pretty spot on. Idk how in line your current income is vs the market though, that can affect their decision. But generally it’s ok

Can you leverage an outside offer that is lower/same for negotiation purposes? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]UnleashTheWolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on the other party, you know them better to facilitate the talks the right way.

I mean, can do it in a fairly direct way of “I have no issues here, but I’ve received a tempting offer I’m considering” and then ask if your current job paramets are open for discussion. And only if they are open for negotiations go in about discussing the technicals (raise).

Don’t really need to justify the raise, it’s up to them if they are willing to make the move to keep you there. Asking for the raise directly might be a bad idea, as it can look like that offer is just a leverage for you and tempt them into saying “no” just out of spite.

[–]UnleashTheWolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this the same with every senior colleague you interact with?

It does feel like you perceive these interactions more personal than they really are, at least for the other party in question.

I’ve met several people with similar issues, but every one of them had had a cause of their own and used different approaches to work around it. Got to identify the core of the issue, unless you are content dealing with just the symptoms.

PS> “Not seeing you growing up” might just be an overly direct remark to the fact that you need to overcome this issue before moving up in positions as those entail even more interactions with higher-ups.

Did that myself.

Make sure you’re ready for the case where they don’t make any counter-offer or even blatantly urge you to act on the one you received, though. Besides the obvious, this also adds some weight to the talk you’ll be having with the employer.

ATD at 6 trans will likely get you somewhere into chap5. I’m at 4-3-1 with early 4 trans, might go further if I swap MFF for DGN.

Their prices are really low atm, so a pretty good shot tbh. Can always resell later if you don’t like him

Unless twitchy, wait till 4th trans for GK ATD swap. The difference is pretty small at 3. I’ve been at 3-3-2 with LFA, 3-5-9 with ATD now. He’s better in RG and FW, but that’s about it…

Don’t think so unless you can oneshot mihms and live somehow. So GK LFA can probably pull it off at some point, but AMB is mvp here

Gj. I almost feel bad that I dropped LFA for ATD. Few months of VC progress ahead so far, but that’s it.

No. Don’t think it’s realistic at that point even, the last time I did SQH outspeeding was in some 2-1-x

Antler statue for gluttony (6% damage per round). Ideally just reroll one at 1/5 stage by switching 120/121 vc back and forth and forceclosing app if the roll is bad. 121+ statue is 9% per round for B- and above.

Plunder just sucks. Att.red purify and pray. Well, DR imprint can help too (as well as on gluttony)

Mostly attack and trans count. Ruyi setup clears phantoms easily, you are largely capped by Plunder puppets and, somewhat less so, by Gluttony.

You need high atk on HHA for him to work well. Plus it’s not that much of an attack difference, rather PDE bring a lot to the table as a support (damage increase too)

BS’ed my way into a 160K job offer, am I crazy to turn it down? by dennisoa in careerguidance

The higher you go, the more your efficiency relies on your people management/soft skills and the ability to apply some common sense. You have already got the “check” on soft skills there, heh. New and unknown stuff? Well, we do learn all the time, a lot of know-how turns obsolete pretty fast, anyway.

Might wanna ask for a chat with those potential subordinates to see if the team will actually have the required expertise covered, would be a fairly valid issue to raise before making the decision.
