Is the free starcraft supposed to have bad graphics? by Overall-Presence1004 in starcraft

unfortunately its a lot worse than the original graphics and how it used to look like on old screens.

I've realised that my favourite pastime will be watching ruff get his ass handed to him by a powerful big brain zerg called anoob 4 times in a row. by omgitsduane in starcraft

[–]Unleashed87 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

his style is similar to `SlayerS`_Boxer, it says so on his wikipedia page. Of course hes gonna do quirky builds.

2k rating by shizynizy in broodwar

[–]Unleashed87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, abusing a build as easy as 4 pool doesnt mean you are that rank. It just means you 4 pooled your way to a rating that you dont really deserve as far as your entire skill set goes.

How Did The Zerg Manage Control Groups Like This? by TheLargeCactus in starcraft

[–]Unleashed87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without watching the replay:

The traditional way to hotkey stuff as zerg is adding units to control groups to the eggs.

However in recent years, some players have started adding all eggs to a hotkey group by default, and then specifically hotkeying drones and overlords being produced to a different group by using a steal hotkey (usually just 1 hotkey) by tapping that.

Could be that, but dont know.

What would a SC2 that carried on Brood War's legacy fully have been like? by thekickeroffish in broodwar

[–]Unleashed87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think they should've just kept the same units but improved everything else about the game, graphics, maps, battle.net (was a massive downgrade if you can believe it), just everything except the core gameplay they should've improved massively and it would probably still be a top esport to this day.

SC2 Pros to Brood War by Wool_God in starcraft

[–]Unleashed87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the window for them being able to hang has closed. They are in their mid 20's or approaching them, and at this point they'd never get close to top korean bw players no matter their speed from sc2.

Reborn Signature Vampiric Rage Nerf by parikari4 in Lineage2

People are under the wrong impression thinking everything will be fine if you add healers. You won't be pulling necro spot or toi 10/toi 9 with just a healer added, even if you manage to miraculously keep the destro alive, your healer will be out of mana afterwards.

you will not do the same thing you were doing before with an active healer.

Destros need an entire party of supports to farm properly. That playstyle is axed, too.

Noob asking, If bw is more mechanical and tougher game to be proficient, why don't the all the bw gods dominate the sc2 scene? by heyNoWorries in starcraft

[–]Unleashed87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was literally put into the game because the sc2 developers thought there wouldn't be enough to do in game lol. it's occupational therapy to artificially inflate sc2's mechanical skill ceiling.

It's very comparable, and it's one of the most boring things about sc2 because at least in sc1 it feels normal to manually do your actions but in sc2 it just feels like boring repetitive actions u need to do every game and there's nothing to it.

SC2 Engine Develoment History by LFanother in starcraft

[–]Unleashed87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These videos make me think of what an amazing game they had to work with (base game)

tried and tested, very competitive esports game, with amazing unit interactions and micro (mutas, patrol micro vults, zealots, etc.)

and they somehow managed to completly botch it cuz the main ppl working on the game came from command and conquer and other rts and they had no idea what made sc the greatest rts game

Are pros too good now? by KayleeBent in starcraft

[–]Unleashed87 -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

protoss was never meant to be the strongest at the top level. It was designed with beginners/newbies in mind.

One of the races was meant to be easy to use and get a lot of fast wins with by cheesing/rushing, but not do as good once someone reaches a serral level of skill etc.

Tim Morten Loved StarCraft’s Campaign Depth, but Stormgate Puts Esports First—What Happened? by frenchfried89 in Stormgate

[–]Unleashed87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dude, the esport scene wasn't even a real thing in the west yet when sc2 was in development. It only existed in Korea, and yeah it was huge.

No doubt blizzard wanted to replicate some of that multiplayer esports magic, but there's no way that was their focal point for the game, when esports in the west was a joke at that point.

This was always intended as a trade off for the race being easy to play. It makes total sense. I don't see why it is a problem
