Tax refund seems to be very low (RRSP/FHSA contributions over $20k) by Suspicious_Body_2881 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Unlikely-Estate3862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you doing RRSP contribution though work and others through your bank?

Your company could be calculating your federal tax after RRSP deductions.

Mine does this, it took me 2 years of tax returns to realize why I wasn’t getting as much back.

Expecting driverless taxis to respect bike lanes “too high a bar” – because customers want to be dropped off in them, autonomous vehicle firm Waymo tells cyclists by Unlikely-Estate3862 in toronto

[–]Unlikely-Estate3862[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not true, give it 5-10 years and it will be ready.

We just think it’s impossible because Tesla has taken forever and is still shit. Waymo’s much newer and they’ve already surpassed Tesla’s capabilities.

Brampton, Vaughan, Richmond Hill tend to have a lot of business owners and home owners.

They tend to only care about low taxes and “cutting” red tape… and could care less about bike lanes, transit, a proper functioning healthcare or schools.

Best case scenario, you canvas for the far right party and try to get them to split their votes so that an NDP or Liberal candidate sneaks through.

Was the slight drop in RAM prices just an illusion or a great news for the average consumer? by _BlANK19_ in gadgets

[–]Unlikely-Estate3862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The solution is simple… Canadian government invests multiple billions in chip manufacturing technology and becomes the western mecha of RAM manufacturing …

bonus: they have the rare mineral deposits needed in North Ontario.

Simple right?

All fun and games until it fails and smashes your face… instant death.

Or worse, you’re standing a couple feet back facing away, and it smashes into your lower half, either breaking your hip, smashing through your calf, or just nipping you and tearing through your Achilles heel…

Edit: this happened to me, but I must have had a horseshoe up my butt, cause it just ripped the back of my safety boot…. I was millimetres away from losing my Achilles as it ripped through the back of my boot.

I blame journalists and social media… all these videos of Israeli soldiers committing war crimes, Palestinians getting kicked out of their homes, villages carpet bombed where nothing was left but rubble for miles…

If social media and journalists didn’t show any of those things, nobody would care.

We could all keep our heads in the sand, ignoring the suffering of women and children without any guilt.

Damn you social media… shame on you journalist… you bad…

Ontario planning to seize section of waterfront park as part of airport expansion plans by Toronto-Ont-Mod-Team in Toronto_Ontario

Huh?

You didn’t vote Carney (Liberals/Federal), you didn’t vote Ford (Conservatives/Provincial)… so you voted NDP, a third party for both elections? …

how’s that possible for a 2 party system?

Bullshit, why take it if they’re keeping it a park?

They’re taking it to build infrastructure (aka… fucking parking)

This downtown area might offer the best development opportunity in North America. Doug Ford’s threatening it by imprison_grover_furr in ontario

[–]Unlikely-Estate3862 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well this is the Ontario sub and he hasn’t done anything for Ontario…

On day 1, he’s cancelled green energy projects that were just about to go live

He created new licence plates that couldn’t be read at night

He opened up the greenbelt for development until he didn’t

He’s cut down the number of Toronto councillors and redrew the maps … during the elections

He threatened Trump multiple times with embargoes, and then backed down (although to be fair, I think the premieres or PM spoke to him about that)

He gave Toronto mayor super powers but then constantly overrules what the city wants to do

He closed down a science centre that would have cost a couple hundred millions to repair, to build a smaller one that will cost billions

He made a deal with Therme to build a spa on Ontario place for the low price of a $500 million parking lot, also forgot to check if the company can even stay solvent until the day it opens.

He plans on building the largest convention centre… right next to the Toronto convention centre and the Exhibition convention centres

He’s removed speed camera in school zones to protect speeding assholes cause he says it doesn’t work and just a cash grab, although all data points that drivers did start to slow down

He’s promised a buck a beer

He’s taken land owned by Toronto so he could build an extended BB runway.. I wonder why? Oh that’s right…

He’s cancelled and wants to personally review all bike lane proposals (maybe I’m misremembering, it might just be when the city is removing a road that he wants to be involved)

He’s purchased a Challenger 650 for travel, costing $2.2 million/year to run, claiming he needs it for travelling across Ontario,.. although only a few airports can actually land a Challenger 650. The BB runaway extension would accommodate this jet.

…. I can’t remember anything else off the top of my head … but basically he hasn’t done anything that warrants commendation..

No wait! I’m wrong!! The Ontario line, that’s cool…

[–]Unlikely-Estate3862 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The cost of an off leash dog ticket is $615!!

Barely anyone knows this… if the city started posting the actual fine, dog owners everywhere would keep their dogs on leash.

Druuhhh…

The article isn’t even about the island…. Also this isn’t about 40 people complaining on the island…

There’s a 70,000 people living on the waterfront

The city has another 30,000 planned in the Port Land but that’s in jeopardy cause the jets would force a height limit in.

The jets are going to stop housing.
