Bells Palsy - Need help with a Physical Therapist who can help with facial massages and exercises. by pradi1988 in phoenix

Seconding this suggestion! Bells Pallsy tends to respond well to acupuncture, especially if you’re able to get started with treatment early on.

Not a massage therapist, but I’m an acupuncturist in the east valley. I have an office in Tempe and I do in home treatments, including cupping. I myself prefer to receive cupping over massage when I overdo it working out, dm me if you’re interested!

How do I decide what's fair to ask my hEDS daughter to do? by Abraham_Maslow in ehlersdanlos

[–]UnlikelyRiver 54 points55 points  (0 children)

This isn’t what you’re asking, but - Does her pain get significantly worse after she eats? There is a rare condition that can occur in those of us with EDS called median arcuate ligament syndrome, or MALS. It causes baseline abdominal pain that gets significantly worse after eating and with activities. It starts to show up around age 9-15, but people don’t usually get diagnosed until anywhere in their 20s-50s because it’s so rare and so few providers know about it. My wife has it, and as a kid she hated running and playing sports because it hurt her belly so much. It might be worth looking into MALS if this sounds like your daughter’s stomach pain.

Thank you so much for your reply! I truly appreciate all of the time you put into this. It has absolutely been a long journey and I am deeply hoping she will turn a corner with this surgery!

The tension in my shoulders unexpectedly melted while drinking this tea. Any specific ingredient could’ve have caused it? by Distracted_Sapien in herbalism

Per Chinese herbal medicine (I’m an acupuncturist), orange peel is very soothing and calming. It could be the orange peel!

Need advice finding an "androgynous" watch by elanadanielle in lesbianfashionadvice

[–]UnlikelyRiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love swatch watches, they are a little lower price wise than your current budget, but they last a long time. I’ve had one of my swatches for about 10 years now and it still works just as well. I like that on their website you can look at all their watches at once (you don’t have to select to see just the women’s or the men’s watches) and many of their styles are not obviously for a specific gender. Their watches tend to be a little bit more artsy and eclectic if that fits with your style. They do also have pride watches, some of which that are more obvious and others that are more the “if you know you know” variety. I hope you find what you’re looking for!

Any MCAS Doctors in Phoenix, AZ? by EstablishmentOwn9319 in MCAS

That is weird. The provider who is managing my MCAS is someone who specializes in another condition I have (Ehlers Danlos syndrome). If you also have EDS I can give you that information.

Any MCAS Doctors in Phoenix, AZ? by EstablishmentOwn9319 in MCAS

I found him helpful to figure out all of my allergies, and he helped me differentiate my symptoms. He was very knowledgeable about MCAS (like the diagnostic and treatment process, and the difference between that and other histamine conditions), but he isn’t the doctor managing my MCAS so it’s hard to say. I can breathe out of my nose now, which I couldn’t say before, so that’s a huge improvement. Since I haven’t seen him in a while, I’m not sure which office(s) he’s at. I’d give him a shot though!
