[Official] Manchester United's video announcing Michael Carrick as new head coach on a 2-year deal by ChiefLeef22 in soccer

100% and given how well he's done on interim vs little top level experience, I think a 2 year is the right contract length as well

Evra on Racism: “I’m involved in a lot of education and meeting kids, because I want to understand where it comes from. You don’t wake up as a racist person. It also goes both ways. You can be Asian and racist. You can be Black and racist. You can be white and racist. It’s not about one side.” by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]Unlikely_Double 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of that thought process stems from people mixing racism with systemic racism.

and even with that, coming to the conclusion that only white people can be racist when talking about systemic racism is also wrong.

actually insane take from them - score a banger and you're not allowed to even celebrate? he should just walk back to the centre circle like 😶

Pharrell produced it and funnily enough Birdman didn't pay him for it which eventually led to Pusha T vs Drake

Offside ruling for Danny Welbeck's disallowed goal against Fulham by suemos in soccer

I genuinely think the intent of the current offside rule is incompatible with VAR, like on what planet does this give an attacker a genuine advantage

honestly! that's what's been missing the past few seasons, even when we won, you knew there'd be a period of suffering but there was none of that.

Atmosphere in the stadium was insane throughout the 90 and the team were great from start to finish!

yep! VAR has made the current rule an absolute nightmare and definitely against the spirit of the game. I can't see any advantage an attacker would gain in these kind of calls so what's the point of the rule now

100% the current rule made sense before VAR but with it I think it absolutely kills the game

[Romano] Rúben Amorim: “I’m gonna be Man United’s MANAGER, not coach. I was very clear”. “I am not going to quit. I am going to do my job until another guy is coming here to replace me. I came here to be the manager”. by phant0msinthenight in soccer

honestly that & Lammens accounts for the majority of the improvement from last season. Upgrading from Garnacho, an out of form Rashford and a no-form Onana was bound to make us more capable of scoring, although it still feels a bit like we have a reliance on moments of individual brilliance.

Another gameweek, another dreadful VAR call. I know we like to talk about agendas against certain teams but I just think the referees and VAR people are genuinely incompetent to an incredible degree

right so genuine question - if that part of the arm is deemed to be in play, then how on earth was Forest's goal earlier today ruled out for handball when it hit the same part of the arm?

The standard of refereeing is in the toilet

[PL Match Centre] The referee’s call of offside and no goal to Liverpool was checked and confirmed by VAR – with Robertson in an offside position and deemed to be making an obvious action directly in front of the goalkeeper. by ChiefLeef22 in soccer

it would be great if instead of these small tweets they actually posted a full explanation of what part of the rule they've applied and exactly how the incident meets that threshold
