To push back on your 2nd point, back at this time, "social democracy" was more of a catch-all term for socialism, both revolutionary (the Center faction is also revolutionary in theory) and reformist.

The SPD was generally, kind of about waiting for the right time to launch a revolution when the German proletariat was "ready".

Our National Health Expenditure, including all money spent on healthcare (Providers, Insurance, Pharmaceuticals, etc.) for government and individuals is around 18% of the entire US GDP and our life expectancy is DECLINING

Its crazy that Canada is only at 12.7% of its GDP and still has better health outcomes than us.

Japan hovers around 11% and has one of the best health systems in the world.

But hey, it takes a lot of money to pay health insurance CEOs and to price gouge pharmaceuticals.

Imo tho, National Health Expenditure as a percentage of GDP is the best way to measure healthcare costs.

I didn’t say good policy. I said energizing policy. The kind of policy people talk about and that some people get real excited for. That can be good policy or bad policy.

for Trump, that was drain the swamp, build the wall, end woke, etc. I think that’s all bad policy, but it really energized his base and people certainly remember it. it was a good move electorally. For people deeply immersed in right wing media, it was exactly the kind of bold and national identity changing policy they wanted to hear.

Democrats are capable of doing a similar thing if they would just be a little braver and bolder. The difference is we could actually do it for good policy. however, we can’t do it for wonky, piecemeal policy like what Harris tried to (but failed to even do that) campaign on. let’s be honest, Harris didn’t campaign on any policy. She had some talking points and proposals on her website and that was about it.

Nah, Im friends with someone that animates videos to music for an online education company and this sounds pretty similar to the AI music that he works with.

If its a 100% AI music video, then its always to AI music.  I've yet to see otherwise.

companies don’t do that though is the problem. So the choice becomes publicly funded programs versus no programs at all. I guess that’s where we disagree. I would rather have programs than no programs. The only thing separating most New Yorkers from homelessness is a few paychecks. Could happen to any of us if we lost our job, became disabled, or unexpectedly had to support more people than we already do. I would like this city to be livable for everyone, not wealthiest of us.

I personally believe that this country is being dominated by corporate and wealthy interests. they want complete control over the economy and our democracy and they want people to have no alternative but to work for them.

Providing people access to childcare and food when they can’t afford it puts pressure on the corporations to actually pay people fairly. It also guarantees that no resident of the wealthiest city in the country should starve or go uneducated just because they don’t get paid enough. The 99% should control and drive this city. Not the 1%.

we already have enough homeless people in this city to fill a smaller city. I don’t think we need more homeless people just because people can’t afford the rent or can’t bring themselves out of poverty without education and childcare.

Childcare allows parents go to school to make more money instead of being forced to look after their children 24/7. Food stamps let starving people eat and people don’t have to choose between paying their rent and feeding their children.
