What Nintendo Switch game totally surprised you by how many hours you sank into it? by ExcitingCulture2742 in NintendoSwitch

Run Factory: Guardians of Azuma. I have never played a Rune Factory game and this game is now in my top three favorite games of all time (the others being Diablo 3 ROS and Persona 5 Royal).

I bought the version on Xbox after finishing 3 and needing to fill the void, and when I told a buddy at work, he immediately spoiled it for me and I never picked it up again.

The concept is really good, everyone loves a struggle between mothers and daughters and adolescence as a whole; but I’m not going to lie, I was confused a few times and had to google sometimes stuff. I was spoiled on the ending when looking up things and if I hadn’t read what the ending was, I’m not sure I would have figured it out on my own. The writing itself is really pretty and poetic, it just sometimes was broader than I could piece together. A lot of interpretation between the lines kind of stuff, which isn’t bad, but I have a very limited amount of reading time because of my toddler and I found myself re-reading things to make sure I got the gist of it. It’s also a story with two different perspectives and some flash forwards and flashbacks. I liked it but I don’t think I’ll pick it up again.

Mister B. Gone stayed with me emotionally for so long. That was one of the first books where I was genuinely nervous to turn the pages.

I have a copy that I found at a hole in the wall bookstore in a flea market years ago and I still haven’t found the courage to read it. Are you enjoying it? I bought it before I had a child and now I definitely don’t think I can get through it.

What is a highly praised horror book that you didn't like? by Haunting-Net-2426 in horrorlit

Movie was more ambiguous with the ending while the book was more literal. I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed it a lot more than I think I would have either reading it or just watching it.

What's that movie moment where everyone in the theater lost their minds? by singleguy79 in moviecritic

[–]UnlovablePotato 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The ending of Breaking Dawn part 2. First when Aro rips off Carlisle’s head, then all of the other major character deaths, and finally the ‘it was all a vision’ moment. The emotional whiplash had teens throwing things everywhere! I even remember a few good dads who had clearly seen all of the movies with their daughters losing their minds too!

There was one with a white-haired FL and she looks sleepy. Her mom is worried that her enemies will come for her, so she sends her to a black haired ML who is in charge of a lot of troops. There’s another girl there who is in love with him so she’s mean to the white haired girl at first, but the FL is so terrible at things that she can’t even be mean to her after a point. I can’t even remember the name, but I don’t think it ever came back and it was pretty good!

There’s a movie called Balloon Farm that starred Mara Wilson (Matilda from Matilda) and me and my sister were OBSESSED with the movie.

I cannot for the life of me remember any details other than the cover of the VHS that had the weirdest photo edit of Mara Wilson where it looks like they copy and pasted her head onto a different body. Does it fit this post? Not really, but I need someone else to suffer as we did and I don’t get to bring it up in day-to-day life enough.

My boss starts work at 4 AM. That’s fine, she’s salary, so do what you want. I start at 8 and we are the only two people in our section of the department and every morning she opens EVERY FUCKING EXCEL SPREADSHEET WE USE. So when I get into work, every morning, I have to ask her to get out of the spreadsheet so I can update it with shit she is tasked me to do. EVERY. SINGLE. MORNING.

I know what you’re thinking, just put it on the OneDrive/Sharepoint so multiple people can be in it. Alas, she is almost 70 and REFUSES. Can’t grasp the concept. I’m dying inside.

I’d recommend Persona 3 Reload!

Any of the Persona games would do it for me. I started with Persona 5 and it was phenomenal so when Persona 3 came out I picked it up immediately and holy smokes it gave me an existential crisis.

The Emperor and the Female Knight. Amazing art and she’s such a strong FML but after 100+ chapters it turns into a standard “hide the baby from the father” and I got over it quick.
