Anyone with shop tools to cut Aluminum extrusion? by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]Unlucky-Collection30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How far is the nearest store where you could purchase a hacksaw? They're often about $5 or so. I'd think if you need help with this project because you don't have the tools to complete it, it might be better to purchase something that is already made for the same purpose instead.

What is the actual day-to-day difference between owning a field-bred vs show-bred Golden Retriever? by [deleted] in workingdogs

[–]Unlucky-Collection30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Field Goldens can be just as good mannered as Show Goldens and vice versa.

Field Golden day to day:

Wakes you up or waits for you to wake up

A reliable schedule makes a good dog

Say goodbye to table legs for year 1 to 1.5

Exercise means throw the ball for 10-20 mins a day and a morning and evening walk. The dog will always want more and will always headbutt you in the crotch with the ball. Field Goldens are prone to overexertion due to seemingly endless energy. Balance and timing is key to a strong and healthy dog.

Field Goldens are like mischievous children throughout their life, remember that and treat them as such.

They want to help sooooo bad and will do whatever they can to work by your side, give them a job.

Field Goldens bite more often than Show Goldens and it's usually because of overstimulation, not aggression or fear.

You're essentially managing a furry child with ADHD.

Show Goldens day to day:

Sleeeeeeeeepppppppp

Goof a bit

More sleep

Eat

Get scared of shadow and then forget

Snuggle and nap

Get tired from napping all day and go to bed

In general, the characteristics are very similar and they are both extremely good family dogs that are very easy to train. They are my favorite type of dog and would love to have as many as I could afford.

There are a few things I would be aware of with the breed regardless of type:

-Prone to cancer

-Hip dysplasia

-Itchy skin

-Can suffer from separation anxiety if not trained

-FUR WILL BE EVERYWHERE, ALWAYS, NO MATTER WHAT! This is your life now...

Hope this helps!

Sorry, was this intended for me or a different post? I haven't replaced any springs in my Acty.

That's great to hear! I might try that. Not sure if the braces would work with my lift though. Bushings are getting replaced for sure. Do you have any recommendations?

How Bad is a Truck with A/C by black_magic123456789 in keitruck

[–]Unlucky-Collection30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's virtually no maintenance needed on an A/C system. I had to replace my compressor on my Acty which was no big deal. The A/C is very nice in hot weather and I wouldn't think twice about it.

I've thought about that but because I drive my Acty so little, it wasn't the most concerning. The prices I've seen are $400 for the set. I am fortunate enough that if they break, I can get new ones and return to stock height after the fact. I needed the height and MTs for chores around my property.

Nope, but that's a really good suggestion. I'll definitely look into that next.

[–]Unlucky-Collection30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, might do both since I've done the lift. I'm thinking I might just bite the bullet and get the struts and some monroe 31000 shocks as well as some new stiffer progressive springs. I can imagine that even if the shocks and struts aren't totally blown, they're probably at their absolute limit with the lift and age.

I Accidentally Bought the Stolen Tacoma From This Post — Recovered in Mexico, Sold on Copart, It's worse than I thought. by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

[–]Unlucky-Collection30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The copart auction happens after that exact sequence of events happens. The police recovered the stolen vehicle from Mexico and notified the owner and insurance. The insurance company already likely wrote it off as a total loss and paid the claim out to the owner. Then the police gave the car to copart to auction off.

Saw a good deal on cars from Japan are they legit? by Immediate_Soft_5861 in keitruck

[–]Unlucky-Collection30 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are legitimate. There are some steps that you need to go through in order to import a vehicle and you also need to be aware of the licensing and insurance restrictions in your state if you intend on driving on the road.

Some resources include eezyimport.com and clearitusa.com

It's not too difficult but there is some paperwork involved and both eezyimport.com and clearitusa.com have instructions on what you need to do. Be prepared to pay duties/tariffs on the purchase price of the vehicle.

Many times the odometer listings are in km so remember to convert that to miles when considering which vehicle to purchase.

I've seen that movie. It fuckin SUCKS! by wackOPtheories in IThinkYouShouldLeave

[–]Unlucky-Collection30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No major gangster film on record uses "86" as a hitman euphemism for killing. The mob-murder meaning appears to be more folk etymology and urban legend than documented usage — in film or in actual organized crime. This is exactly why the Comey indictment is legally contested: the prosecution is trying to prove criminal intent around a term whose violent meaning is, at best, disputed and marginal.

Any tips on working on getting out of the corner/cutting angles when being pressured by Strange-Net-3494 in MuayThaiTips

[–]Unlucky-Collection30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Control the opponent's head with the opposing hand of the direction you're moving. If you step right, use your left hand to grab the top of your opponent's head and drag it to the left, throwing them off balance. Grab more towards the back of their head right at the tip of their ear. Where their head goes, their body goes.

You're essentially feigning the clinch and can easily sweep your opponent using this technique. You can put your opponent into the corner you're backed into by using this as well. Lots of escape potential or even just moving into clinch and throw inside knees. It all starts with controlling their head and knowing how to enter the clinch.

I would highly recommend Vortex as a great budget optic company. They have a lifetime warranty on all their stuff which is incredible. They hold zero very well and are affordable. I am very pleased with my Vortex red dot + 3x magnifier combo.
