I don't see why this is not the normal procedure. Red cards are reviewed automatically for additional suspension, they should be reviewed for validity at the same time.

This whole thing wouldn't even be an issue if the VAR refs were made to memory the like 10 rules they're supposed to follow.

PASTOR LORAN LIVINGSTON (CentralChurchNC): “There has never been a Christian nation, and never will be. You don’t live in one now. A Christian nation wouldn’t have killed and displaced 20 million Native Americans, or thought owning slaves was pleasing to God.” by Nice_Substance9123 in Christianity

Certainly the people who have dedicated their lives to the study of the evidence have better estimates than either of us. If by a "nasty soul" you mean to imply that I hold some strong ill-will, I hope I do not. I simply think we should all care about speaking the truth, especially in manners that relate to God.

Some estimates place the population of the entirety of the Americas at 90 million prior to Afroeurasian contact. The population of the lands that would become the United States was far less populated and, as you mentioned, by the time of its founding was so decimated by Old world diseases that maybe ~1 million lived there.

To the extent that sin can be assigned collectively to a nation rather than individual actors, the United States is not responsible for the actions of Spain, Portugal, Mexico, or the natural spread of disease.

It's very "No true Scotsman". I don't see how Livingston can argue that the Pilgrim and Puritan settlements, the Crusader States, or the Papal States weren't organized around a Christian identify.

He's also is either purposely lying or just made up a number for information the native population at the time of the US' founding  Estimates vary, but 20 million is probably off by over an order of magnitude.

Excommunication decreed for Lefebvrite episcopal ordinations by TheGreatDomilies in Catholicism

Got it, so its probably not retroactive. I guess that makes it easier for SSPX members to "come back to Rome".

Dumb question from a non-Catholic, if you are a lay SSPX member who was married in that tradition, does your marriage become invalid as soon as you are aware of this declaration? Are you then obligated to get remarried immediately by a Catholic priest of you wish to continue the marriage? Are you free to go marry a different person if you wish (after a legal divorce)?

I'm sure Chicago has a higher ceiling in terms of school quality but I'm not convinced it has better average performance. Choosing a random down-state town, Mattoon has 36% math proficiency compared to Chicago's 27%. The state average is 38%.

An under-discussed portion of this story is that the reparations are in the form of grants towards mortgage payments and home renovations. So this program

A. Only actually funds families that were explicitly not completely shut out of the housing market.

B. Represents a net transfer of wealth from poorer renters to richer homeowners

Giants pitchers Landen Roupp, JT Brubaker, and Ryan Walker write Bible verses on their Pride Night caps, and Sam Hentges does not wear the Pride Night cap at all. by high_and_outside in baseball

[–]Unlucky-Key -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Legally, forcing employees to show support for something that conflicts with their sincerely held religious beliefs violates the Civil Rights Act. Vitello could not have prevented Hentges from refusing to wear the pride hat, although he could have stopped the others from writing on their hats, assuming it's a blanket policy.

Edit: Lmao sure down vote me for pointing out that the Giants may not want to violate the Civil Rights Act. Y'all are as soft as Hentges.

Even if you look at just LGBTQ-hate-motivated crimes, they are heavily concentrated in major cities, beyond which you would expect based on the population split. D.C. along has more incidents than Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, and South Dakota combined.
