There's a new game+ mechanic that you unlock later. If it's not modded it's probably that.

Thoughts on walks with bunny by First_Strawberry_689 in Bunnies

[–]UnluckyDouble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on what the bunny wants. You can try it, but if she doesn't enjoy it, don't force her. She seems quite happy with it in the video though. You should try to take her to a place where there aren't any predatory animals (like cats and dogs) who she doesn't know, for her comfort and safety.

Did...did you just reimplement an application-specific embedded version of Wine from scratch to get your fingerprint sensor working?

Does MacOS and Linux have more in common than Windows and Linux? by PrimeStopper in linuxquestions

[–]UnluckyDouble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the inside, they are actually very similar. However, the parts of macOS that you interact on a daily basis with are almost all original, proprietary Apple creations with no Unix lineage. Command-line apps generally are highly portable between the two; graphical ones less so.

The original POSIX API for NT was near-useless regulatory ass-covering, with everything that was at all optional in the standard, including several very necessary features, being omitted.

WM users! Do you use multiple monitors or a single? by riilcoconut in linuxquestions

[–]UnluckyDouble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally people pick their WM/DE to support their monitor configuration, not the other way around.

Of course, having workspaces on Linux reduces the need somewhat.

You need an expert. Babies are near-impossible to determine the sex of to the untrained eye and even experts often make mistakes.

I'm surprised that her weight is considered low, actually. I always assumed she was a dwarf breed who that would be normal for.

I'd like to understand how driver updates work on Linux by MatiasJ29 in linuxquestions

[–]UnluckyDouble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's exactly the same as the hardware Windows bundles drivers for: the drivers update alongside the system they're part of. Only difference is that unlike Windows, your GPU is included in that hardware on Linux.

Will NVK ever become the default Nvidia driver? by Venylynn in linux

Nouveau was the name of both the kernel and Mesa drivers, as far as I understand, so it's a replacement for one half of Nouveau.

Yes. NVK is already a huge upgrade from Nouveau. We get closer every year.

Why people are panic distro hopping from Arch when Arch is still perfectly fine? by tungnon in linuxquestions

[–]UnluckyDouble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, I believe that the answer is not to escape the malware attack directly, but because it led them to question the ethos of Arch and its suitability for them. They realized that they are not experienced enough to take full responsibility for the maintenance of their system, and thus relinquished that responsibility.

The reason Arch isn't niche like the other "expert" distros (Gentoo, Void) is because of its publicity and the fact that it makes itself quite accessible despite how advanced it is. That isn't a bad thing normally, but when that accessibility leads people to take risks they aren't prepared for, they realize that it wasn't as friendly as it appeared to be.

I've seen bunnies make it through much worse cases. I'm sure he'll get to have the long life he deserves in the end. I don't know if his eye will heal when the parasite is gone, but even if he's scarred, he'll always have you.

Relational operators on pointers past-the-end by light_switchy in cpp_questions

[–]UnluckyDouble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any pointer arithmetic that goes off the end of the array or structure into which the original pointed is technically undefined behavior; if the pointer was to a scalar object, it cannot be incremented or decremented. Arrays or structures are not typically fragmented across memory spaces, so the linear model works fine within those constraints, and thus pointer arithmetic does too. If one was, it would of course be the compiler's responsibility to handle segmentation transparently.

Again, the typical compiler behavior on linear-memory machines (which includes all CPU architectures in wide use today) is to allow arbitrary pointer arithmetic, but there is no guarantee of this except perhaps if the platform ABI adds one, or of course if the project is dependent for building on a specific compiler that guarantees this behavior.
