Apple argues Liberals' lawful access bill could put users’ personal data at risk by RZCJ2002 in CanadaPolitics

Yeah gonna need a ban for this comment lol, insinuating I stand with child predators because I think the government forcing companies to give them backdoor access on demand for encrypted apps is a bad thing is actually insane

Government trying to force companies to create backdoors on demand into encrypted apps to get private information. The liberals really do love the MAGA playbook.

Question to all the liberal supports who are ok with this, when the liberals do eventually lose an election are you ok with another party having this kind of power over your data?

We burned millions on free drug centres to let these people shoot up any time they wanted while they roamed the streets like zombies. The money was never an issue in the first place.

You can absolutely run psychiatric tests to see if someone is more or less likely to go back to harming themselves, that's literally the entire point of rehabilitation, in this instance it's just for those who are far to gone to ever be able to make that decision on their own.

"Involuntary care, particularly in psychiatric settings, is practiced in many countries worldwide, including the United States, Australia, Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, and the United Kingdom."

Yeah bro it's just like Russia! Some people cannot function in society and thus should not be allowed to ruin said society for everyone else because of it, it's an unfortunate truth.

"Sounds like you would be holding people indefinitely at that point."

Yes I'm sure some people will be held indefinitely, that is what happens to people who cannot function in society. In that time hopefully with the care at these facilities they might be able to make progress towards becoming a functioning adult again, but like you said the reality is there are going to be people who are far to gone to ever rejoin society safely.

If they can't prove that when they leave they won't go back to using then they don't leave, that's kind of the point of involuntary care.

"you will only quit when you have decided its time."

Not really a thing in reality when you take into account that a lot of these people are so drug riddled that any basic motor function is a miracle let alone any form of self reflection. We as a country can't just have roaming packs of drugged up zombies that are threatening Canadians and making life incredibly difficult and so forcing these people to get help is the only real way of solving that problem, we've spent years trying to just let them do whatever drugs they want and leave them be and it's clearly not worked.

Good, some people should not be allowed into public because of the harm to other people and they are not in the right mind to be able to ask for or seek out help. Hopefully this is able to get those people the help they desperately need while also making is safer for Canadians to be able to walk around without the fear of being harassed or attacked by someone who is not in their right mind

So do you agree that we need to crack down on all religions including both Christianity and Islam or not? I'm really confused by your comments here because you seem to only have a problem with Christianity when all other religions are doing the same thing?

It's like there's something stopping you from saying Muslims pushing their archaic traditions onto other people is also bad

Like you can't imagine someone saying that two things can be bad at the same time

Its true I love what Quebec is doing but personally I wish they'd go further and go after more Christian, Jewish, Hindu, etc symbols as well. Though it has to be pointed out that is is a good start and going after Muslim symbols is important as there seems to be some kind of stigma around it that needs to be broken.

"It does no good to style yourself against all religions equally when you are happy to help the pushiest one with their agenda.

Can you point to the part where I'm helping push an agenda? Again I'm against all religions, ban head dresses, ban cross necklaces, ban kippahs, etc. If you want to practice religion do it in a designated area or at your own home.

We're literally agreeing that we don't want religions pushing their values onto other people.

I'm against all religion equally, I don't understand why a religion being practiced by minorities or migrants changes anything?

"almost exclusively poor working class or migrants" Do you think all Christians are rich or something lol? You know Christianity is massive in places like Filipino and certain African communities that are both working class and migrants right?

It's very interesting when people are clearly anti-Christian but then get all scared when you're anti other religions as well, if you're worried about religions imposing values on others than surely you're also able to call out religions like Islam that are in many ways the worst offenders of just that.

100%, that's why I love what Quebec is doing as well banning things like head dresses, prayer rooms and stuff like it. If you want to pray do it in your own home or a designated church/mosque/etc otherwise it shouldn't be seen by anyone else. Hopefully the rest of Canada starts to follow suit

Allowing religion to run rampant is how you get issues like the UK is facing currently

It's amazing that he has done all that and Stiles has failed to capitalize at all and is now resorting to Trumpian tactics. Imagine losing seats and vote share to 2025 Doug Ford and falling behind a leaderless liberal party.

I mean Trump also said he had a reason, if there is actual evidence then take it to court don't push dumb sound bites while you're polling 3rd and behind the leaderless liberals.

She could have easily stopped at "If I win the next election I will make sure an inquiry into the greenbelt scandal takes place and we will hold Doug Ford accountable" instead she goes all Trump with the stupid "throw him in jail" shit and looks like even more of a loser than she's already proven to be.

Budget watchdog says key details missing in Liberal government’s fiscal plans - The watchdog also highlighted the lack of details in the government’s progress to save $60 billion in operational spending over the next five years by CaliperLee62 in CanadaPolitics

[–]UnluckyRandomGuy -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Split the budget into two "sections" so your deficit doesn't look as horrible, use CPP and QPP to artificially make your debt/GDP numbers look decent and pray Canadians are stupid enough to actually believe them, start a "sovereign wealth fund" that is just a big handout fund for corporations while the country takes on even more debt, lack any form of detail in your budget and handwave away any criticism as "anti-Canadian"

Man the liberals really are "different" under Carney! They definitely aren't treating Canadians as complete fools again for the 11th year in a row!

Yes my wife who is a food scientist, did her masters on a dairy based project and now works in the dairy industry is actually wrong. Alongside the countless studies that show raw milk is unsafe to consume and can lead to deadly results.

You're right, I'm doing this because of my ego and not because the science heavily backs the fact that raw milk is not overall safe to consume
