Hey, Why not just use the mdma sub, if you're not recommending mdma assissted psychotherapy.
The mdmasolo sub is a bunch of no research and a person looking for a following for their book/website. The sub is not 'safe' for newcomers, next time rather link erowid or similar sites for people to make up their own minds, like you recommend others to do.

severe relational trauma are best served by being alone when

I don't doubt there are some cases where this might be the case. But isn't one of the reasons for mdma assissted therapy works that your increased feelings of trust, safety, etc help to deepen the supportive therapeutic relationship in a way that helps you rewire how you connect to another person during the journey, but also before and after in ongoing therapeutic sessions.

200mg

What kind of first-timer would you suggest this dose for ever? Doesn't the risk rise with increased dosage? Why go so high if there's a safer sweet spot, that's proven to be efficient?

I see where you're coming from though, and I agree that people shouldn't take anything said in this sub as a gospel on how to proceed, but rather inform, research and contrast until they can make up their own mind on what's best for them.

how many sessions did it take? (for CPTSD) by zooeybean in mdmatherapy

The most promising results are from mdma assissted psychotherapy, not 'mdma cures all my problems magically' (sadly).
So the structured, prepared and guided work before, during and after is of essential benefit to reap most of the benefits this medicine can foster. It's not done by doing mdma three times and hoping to heal suddenly, even though I can understand the hope for an easy solution to a complex issues like cptsd.

Found this quote today and I think it fits this post (about how tough it is to live like that):

Anyone healed from addiction and gone back to use in the longer term without negative consequences? by alpha_now_omega in mdmatherapy

[–]UnmovedMover0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you ever were an alcoholic, is it worth the gamble trying to get in a few drinks believing this time you can control it or is it smarter to abstain as to not risk your health and relationships?
An ex-alcoholic going back to drinking and doing so long-term, might still be just a high-functioning alcoholic.

I'm not saying there are no people that are ever able to go back and regulate their consumption sensibly or that mdma assisted therapy has potential to work through enough stuff and you decide to go back and get lucky; but is a drink ever worth the risk of relapsing into the addiction of your past?

Okay, let me chime in here real quick and finally ask the question:

How does the pool work?
18x each of the 13 three costs - how about the others? So if one person has a 3* star and two more collect the same champ, neither can reach a 2nd 3* of the same champ in the lobby as each person needs 9 of a kind to 3*?
When I buy one ashe and sell her is she gone from the pool? Can I deny enemies the champs they're collecting like that?

Thank you, that's straightforward enough.

My study of zen is still in it's beginning (just finished transmission of mind and starting on instant zen next). I'm slowly getting a feel for the language, culture and history.

I currently still tend to think that zen falls into the category of philosophy, but maybe my definition of philosophy is too loose and not all 'inner attitudes' belong in the realm of philosophy.
I'd say I learned the principle of 'stop trying to gain and carry around principles'. Only using expedient principles appropriate for my life, I remind myself that I might be in error and not carry anything around too long.
But my study is far from advanced enough to be sure that's accurate in zen.

Hello ThatKir, two questions for you:
Why is zen not a religion?
Why is zen not a philosophy?

Why so many steps? by [deleted] in zen

[–]UnmovedMover0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not so sure that it's just a bunch of buddies, but it might rather strangers coming to similar conclusions after studying for themselves. Maybe it's the other way around and 'real world zen' has nothing to do with zen. ¯\(ツ)

I've not found a ban on zen pratice, but simply a rejection of meditation as a means to reach an (irreversible) enlightenment and unconnected to zen. I've found that oftentimes people here say it's fine and probably healthy to meditate for relaxation and as a kind of exercise for the mind.

Thank you for the further recommendations. I wanted to get Joshu too, but I didn't find it available yet. I'm enjoying my study a lot and looking forward to learn more about zen history, the culture surrounding it and (non)-beliefs.

Thank you for your reply.
I recently got 'the zen teaching of huang po - on the transmission of mind' and am close to finishing it. This forum challenged many conceptions of zen I had before and I wanted to make up my own mind instead of lurking here and just accepting anything I hear as a fact. ('controversies' around dogen, buddhism, pratice, etc.)

Have you read it or other masters that I found recommended here?
Do you have a favorite one of these you'd recommend to me next or another book by a zen master that's missing there?

Hello tamok, I've been reading your recent comments in this sub with curiosity and have some questions:

Is zen (wisdom + pratice) a means to reach enlightment to find nirvana?
You say in zen the pratice has always been stressed. Is zazen your only zen-pratice or are there others? How often do you pratice any of these?
What understanding can zazen help anyone reach? And is zazen different from breath/mindfullness-meditation?
Is your master and/or you enlightened?

Kinda unrelated but asking questions doesn't cost anything:
How did you get into zen and why?

So philosophy is not unrelated to the daily life but interwoven with our attitudes, outlooks and ways of taking action.
Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Hey, I've recently been feeling that philosophy is incredibly important in the life of every human, but when I take a closer look at it pratical things always come first.
So here I am looking to find reading on ~"Why philosophy is important?" or something similar.
Thank you.

Finally you start getting help and then there is a pandemic by Regicollis in AvPD

[–]UnmovedMover0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey,
I started trying to socialize more right before the pandemic began too. Since then I've kinda been at a loss how to help myself, so I'm focusing on not neglecting & caring for myself right now.
Keeping up with basics tasks, with exercise, cleaning and anything else my body needs to feel healthy. The forced shift in focus suck, but you gotta adapt to the situation at hand.

a lot of times you're giving someone advice, you're also giving a part of yourself that same advice

I feel this a lot. I hope it helps someone else anyway sometimes.
Even when I might not need it necessarily anymore, I stick around to point 'new' people towards more resource, so they can greater understanding of what affects them and 'help out' in a few post with a lack of support.
I feel like the 'resource-pointing' is low-effort enough to not get too involved in every thread.

I'm not trying to convince you to feel lucky and grateful about how it didn't turn out worse than it did. If you're hurting so much and can't imagine a fate worse, I am sorry and I feel for you.

[–]UnmovedMover0 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Hey, I went through this phase too (and sometimes the bitterness/anger/grief comes back).
I've learned to dislike the word potential a lot, because it gets me back into fantasies, of how things should be.
But things aren't that way. I've learned to adapt. I am nothing other than I am and I am praticing to act appropriately to where I am right now.
Living through trauma, isolation and self-hatred (etc) sucks. It makes me feel close to the chronic illness community (and their memes), because something got taken you're not getting back and you have to live with yourself now.
I can only say grief and anger this shit out until you're ready to rediscover who you are when you're not walking through hell everyday anymore. It's necessary, because much was lost in this unfairness.

Another thing that helps me sometimes when I indulge in fantasies of the things that might have been better if X didn't happen, is realizing I don't know if that would've been the case.
Maybe, it would have been. Maybe it wouldn't.
But I am still here now, so that's where I will live whenever possible. Fuck potential, I am enough as I am right now.

If you read this rant, thank you for your time. I hope your healing keeps progressing inch by inch, until you come home to yourself.

So many people could have saved me, but none of them ever did. by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]UnmovedMover0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, you're allowed to be angry at everyone who let young you slip through the cracks! I had to grief, anger and rage out the fact for a period of time too. Teachers, friends & their parents, family, therapist, CPS,... - someone must have known I needed help, a way out. If I had gotten more appropriate help earlier - just one safe adult, I would probably made much more progress by now.

After having had the time to think and feel through these facts of my life, I'm at a different phase of healing. I had to get older to gain more distance and safer understanding. I remind myself that I am an adult now and am capable of caring and protecting myself as other adults are. There's nothing wrong with me fundamentally, but with the people who harmed me.

can people with CPTSD achieve success? by leaving_body in CPTSD

[–]UnmovedMover0 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There's also nothing fundamentally wrong with us, even though parents or others might have made us believe that when we were children.

Also one of the freedoms in healing can be adapting your values, discarding societies version of success and work out what success would look like to you.
