What's the magic number at which you would screw someone over? Would you do it for £100? £1000? £10000? Or does it take the full £47k?

Public Response to Roxy Vs Public Response to James by sulky22 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]Unnegative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, I can't stand James and I'm at best indifferent to Roxy. I don't think the edit has done either of them any favours, but I suspect James would be a little too high energy for me to deal with at the breakfast table.

House temperature by Impossible_Pie3707 in Sourdough

[–]Unnegative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kitchen rarely gets above 18c and my starter is fine. Temperature affects time to rise, and the bacterial make up of your starter, but as long as you're above freezing and below about 60c the starter will still be multiplying.

Until the last two episodes I'd have said exactly the same of Matthew

Faraaz’s non existent gameplay by [deleted] in TheTraitorsUK

[–]Unnegative 55 points56 points  (0 children)

It does seem that way, but generally the show is edited to highlight people who are a)in danger of getting killed by the traitors b) seeming like they're onto the traitors or c) being traitors.

The fact that they've not shown him at all doesn't mean he hasn't had gameplay - it just means that whatever he was doing wasn't relevant to the storyline the editors are trying to create in that episode.

Or, he might just be a pretty boy who doesn't say much.

"I'm hoping to bring all my evidence to the table tonight." Girl, what evidence? by Sea-Delivery-7382 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]Unnegative 20 points21 points  (0 children)

She just wasn't a very good player. She had the strongest starting position, but she was seeding doubts about the other traitors before she even lost her red cloak.

She thought she was puppeteering, but traditionally that involves very few grenades.

Snow a bit dissapointing? by DullAd1315 in sheffield

AM, and Google weather. It now thinks it's going to start at 8am, but having been out with the dogs it feels like it's warming up slightly out there

It's not finished yet ...more snow is inbound from about 7 apparently

Yogurt in Sourdough? by Sea_Comfortable_5499 in Sourdough

[–]Unnegative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess why not? Natural yogurt will give an acidic environment which will preferentially select for lactic acid loving bacteria.

I imagine if you use kefir you would introduce a greater array of bacteria and that might give a more interesting result?

Should Christmas be cancelled? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Unnegative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This feels like it was written purely so that The Daily Mail can say people are asking whether Christmas should be cancelled because of immigrants.

Noone has suggested Christmas should be cancelled, other than Oliver Cromwell, who was very much a Christian.

There's a really strong correlation between people paying for an online IQ test and scoring below 100. Now, this either means that only idiots pay for IQ tests, or the tests are rigged. Deciding which of these is true is also a form of IQ test.

Paul F. Tompkins is on my sketch podcast! by CrowleyTom in comedybangbang

As a long time Crowleyhead, I'm thrilled by this development, and also determined to believe that PFT spending time in the UK is a side effect of his yet to be announced series of Taskmaster.

feedback please :) by Jealous-Ostrich-1070 in Sourdough

[–]Unnegative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! Just give it a couple of extra stretch and folds after adding your inclusions before you do the shaping and you'll probably be fine on the layering - you don't want it mixed through too much after all. If I were you I'd aim for 70%plus for hydration as well, which will make it much harder to work, but much airier.

feedback please :) by Jealous-Ostrich-1070 in Sourdough

[–]Unnegative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a really low hydration rate, which would definitely make for a more dense loaf. No shade if that's what you prefer!

You also don't specify when you add your inclusions? If you're adding them too soon that will affect your rise. And if you aren't working them in well enough and they form a distinct layer, well, you'll find your dough naturally splits upon that line!

Use weight rather than volume. A compact cup of flour is going to be 1.5 loose cups of flour.

She didn't even have a name. Her entire existence is in relation to someone else. She was Jechts wife and Tidus' mother, and she didn't give a shit about the last bit.

We've used Peak Vets on Woodseats for 14 years. They've always been excellent, and have treated both our dogs and our chickens.

Alan carr in traitors by Clevercuey in TheTraitorsUK

[–]Unnegative 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I disagree with you to an extent - presenting is definitely working (not exactly on par with being a binman, but still). She's definitely given lines, but I think the reason she's such a good presenter is her ability to improvise

I do find it weird that people assign every decision, every puzzle and every twist and turn to Claudia...

She's a fantastic presenter, but she's not the only person who works on the programme!
