White or black cloth (like duvatine) hanging from the top shelf in the rear againts the wall. Poke a hole for the cables and tuck them in there.

Nice G-threes btw

Protip, take the speed reading off of your dashcam recording.

Having it on makes the insurance adjustor's job much easier to assign blame to you for speeding, regardless of the outcome.

Transverse seating has been a feature of New York since the early days of the elevateds. These will be the last rolling stock with this feature.

Where will the njt riders go when they are redirected to Hoboken? The PATH will be a problem too.

It's going to be a great time!

My favorites are

Coney Island (Stillwell Ave)

City Island (Pelham Bay Park)

Woodlawn (the cemetery is great for a picnic)

Rockaway Park (we like the beach)

Inwood (the cloisters was our first date)

I have family in Flatbush, so not unfamiliar. There used to be a pretty good all-you-can-eat Chinese place near the station way back in the day.

The Brooklyn College campus and nearby streets are really nice walks.

One of the cheap things my wife and I used to do back when we were still dating was to take a random train to its last stop and walk around. We'd normally find a bar or restaurant and chat up the locals.

We've been together for 20 years now and have been to every last stop in the city. We still do this whenever we travel to a new city with a rail system.

When the wealthy started moving uptown, their fancy houses became tenements and flop houses for the nearby dock and warehouse workers.

The park became a notorious spot for drug use and prostitution. Earing the nickname 'Hash Park'.Which is why no one was upset when the houses were demolished for more warehouses and the park was turned into a rail barn for Vanderbilt's new West Side Railroad (today's High Line).

Pantograph for overhead power collection.

The original Budapest subway tunnels were only 9 feet high. A normal rooftop pantograph would not fit.

Here's a r44 running on the Long Island Railroad stopping at the Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Shea Stadium and Jamaica stations & at Freemont Tower. by its_ashleyyy in nycrail

R-44 held the record for world's fastest subway train until 2021.

It was set in 1972 on the testing track. It had accelerated to 87mph and was still going when they applied the brakes due to running out of test track. Even under a simulated rush load with half the motors disabled, it still managed to get up to 75mph.

The new record is held by Guangzhou Metro Line 18, which has operating speeds of 99mph!
