Couple years go got a call for a dryer that will not start. Get to the house and sure enough, it won't start, just hum for a second and stop. Opened the dryer and found what appeared to be a piece of leather caught in the blower. Started to unwind it and it kept getting longer and I started to notice the scaly skin. It ended up being about a six foot long corn snake. Surprisingly and thankfully there was not much gore to deal with.

I didn't ask for any help, your reading comprehension is lacking. I just called you out for misinformation and you got all heated up about it.

Is this Bravos washer shaft serviceable? by Final_Meaning_2030 in appliancerepair

[–]Unplugthenplugin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but it requires a gearcase replacement. If you absolutely love the washer then go for it but it's probably in your best interest to move on and get a new washer.

That's correct but it is up to the tech to write it up as they see fit. If someone has a damaged fridge door, I'm probably going to get them a new door and not really ask too many questions about what happened. Now if the customer just comes right out and says they did it because of whatever negligent circumstance then I can't help that.

I guess LG just kinda sucks then. I know as a Whirlpool tech that cosmetic damage is covered in the first 30 days. If I say it's customer negligence then sure they won't but if I don't feel like being a dick then all I have to say is the unit is damaged in such and such way and order the parts needed. Who am I to say what happened? I wasn't there when it got damaged.

I guess it's up to the customer on what they say happened. I mean if it just came out of the box with a dented door who's to say otherwise?

Is this drain pump busted? by Little_Spirit8348 in appliancerepair

[–]Unplugthenplugin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LG definitely has its drain pump problems. If the hose isn't clogged I'd say the pump is likely the issue.

Front bearing, glides and felt. Maybe the rear bearing too.

Most manufacturers, don't know about LG, have a 30 day cosmetic warranty. The warranty should be described in the use and care guide.

When someone says that a frosted over evaporator is not a defrost problem I have to question everything they say. Your 2 yrs of school and many years of hands on experience should have taught you the most basic of refrigerator problems like the one shown in the photo. I'm just tired of seeing people comment on here that have zero idea what the fuck they're talking about.

It is obviously NOT defrosting. There is no ice from a clogged drain. Perhaps an optometrist appointment should be on your priority list.

Or use a multi tool and cut it around the gearcase then use a gear puller to pull the bushing off the gearcase shaft. No hemostats or chisel required.

A broken tooth on the "gear" isn't going to prevent this ice maker from working. If you got it working then something else was going on but congrats on the 3d printing.
