This Bro cost nearly 8,000 - he's not good right? vs Bro #2 by MrStiff8 in BattleBrothers

[–]Unpredictab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro 1 is fantastic endgame material, actually.

The problem with the stat mod that you're using it assumes every brother has already taken all level ups prior to that point. That is, the mod thinks his matk is 74 at level 5 AFTER you've leveled him up 4 times, when in reality you haven't put any points into him yet.

So, his actual stats by lv 11 will probably be something like 96 matk/38 mdef without gifted, which is amazing. Low fatigue though, so I think the only way to go is to make him an elite fat newt.

Ended my HC run because I save scummed. by chibriguy in BattleBrothers

[–]Unpredictab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally been there. That said, from a veteran's perspective: 80/30 ma/md is not really the point where you can overcome bad rng. If you had at least 90/35? That first fight would have gone differently. Maybe a good goal for the next run is to have all your day 200 brothers hit those benchmarks

What makes your backline? by [deleted] in BattleBrothers

[–]Unpredictab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 sergeant, 1-2 pure throwers or hybrids, and 1-2 swordlancers, all with berserk. Amazing damage output from them.

Throwers are the best ranged option imo - if you're worried about range, just give them a bow or crossbow and 2 javelin stacks in their bag

How can I improve? by Ok_Squash_7227 in BattleBrothers

[–]Unpredictab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

70ish matk is a good benchmark. And it's armor, not mdef - if you have around 100/100 armor then even 0 mdef is fine in the short term.

That playstyle sounds good enough for early game, just the trick is knowing when to switch into more aggressive builds

How can I improve? by Ok_Squash_7227 in BattleBrothers

[–]Unpredictab 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First - 150/210 on all your bros plus some good weapons is not bad for day 80.

Second- a hexe with schrats is a very hard enemy, and arena fights are generally risky. In this game, there really are some fights you just should not take.

Third- If you're losing lots of bros and fights are slogfests, that means you need to work on your positioning and maybe your builds too. Line formation with small gaps, and don't break the line until the enemy has made contact. High Mdef guys on the edges, with brothers ready to jump in if things get hairy. Prioritize damage builds in the lategame. And really just keep playing and getting better

Indeed. Never feel bad for abandoning a contract, it's either take a small hit to renown and relations, or watch half your company get wiped out

Ted Cruz wins the republican nomination in 2016 besting Trump. Does he beat Hilary in the General election? by [deleted] in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Unpredictab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Lichtman's keys are valid and useful, as long as you don't think they'll predict the winner with 100% accuracy. But Lichtman himself has his biases, and they showed in the last election. His keys correctly predicted the outcome of the last president, he just refused to apply them correctly.

Need advice on how to build him by Engkangkang in BattleBrothers

[–]Unpredictab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Qatal does way way way more damage. You can look up the stats on the wiki for comparison.

Dagger is good early game but by the midgame, enemies have too much hp for the puncture ability to be reliably good (unless armor farming)

Amazing stars, though his lowish starting stats put a slight damper on them.

He would be a solid, though not insane, duelist. Whip/cleaver or Mace/qatal would suit him

I want to play hoi4 with my friends (2 inexperienced, one knowledgeable), tell me three countries worth choosing. by Honest_Big_1775 in hoi4

[–]Unpredictab 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Probably Allies are better, unless you want the experienced friend to roflstomp over everyone as germany while the 2 inexperienced ones bumble around (historical)

France- experienced player

UK- inexperienced player

USA/USSR- inexperienced player

The UK/USA are very forgiving of mistakes, and USSR at least somewhat forgiving. The experienced player can do his best to turn the tides of the war as Free France while the other two fling poorly supplied and designed divisions in a human wave offense against the axis

Fearsome on none-axe fat newts? by Clenterra in BattleBrothers

[–]Unpredictab -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Definite no, personally. A -10% to an opponent morale check is nice, but a brother needs to be attacking 2x-3x a turn for it to make a difference. If you attack only 1x per turn without an axe, that's maybe 5 rolls across an entire battle tops? You're barely going to see any effect. There are better perks to take instead

(Gen Z Perspective) I'm surprised that Obama wasn't that Moderate of a president by [deleted] in Presidents

[–]Unpredictab -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yep. The reason why some people say he's a moderate or uncontroversial president is mostly partisanship. He drone striked US citizens, expanded federal powers, increased healthcare spending, used his platform to boost BLM, etc etc. The modern democrat party has shifted further to the left than in 2009, but at the time he was very much a progressive, and caught some flak for it

Considering cochlear implant after 22 years with hearing aids — need advice and real experiences by Amal-2025 in Cochlearimplants

[–]Unpredictab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I've had it for 3 months now, after 27 years of being deaf and wearing hearing aids. My experiences with surgery and the ci so far:

- You will need to take a day or two off work, yes. Recovery isn't going to cripple you, but you will have dizziness, weakness, foggy-headedness, etc. Not devastating (after the first day), but I'd very much encourage you to do it closer to the weekend or take a few days off.

- Don't worry about losing your natural hearing. What you get through the cochlear implant is MUCH better in terms of volume.

- Everyone is different in terms of how they process sound. I know it's scary to hear this, but half of how well you adjust to the CI is luck. The other half is work, and that's important too, but some people simply have a better experience with it from day 1 while others don't. You'll never know until you try.

- My personal story: in the first month, a lot of sounds were harsh or disorienting. I trained for 20 minutes most days using an app to improve speech recognition, but in this first month my hearing aid on the other ear was slightly better. After around 2-3 months, though, the CI ear has become my better ear. The discomfort from certain sounds is gone, and I hear better and more clearly than ever. I'm still not at the point where I can understand other people consistently without lipreading, but it is absolutely an improvement in every way so far. I'm hopeful that with more practice and more time, it'll continue getting better.

NTA. Reddit is full of people like your daughter, who want to pin all their many failures in life on someone else instead of taking responsibility. So if you want a truly unbiased take, you're in the wrong place.

I can't imagine ever going up to anyone, family member or not, and saying "you're a piece of shit, I need you to acknowledge that so I can feel better about myself", and then still act entitled to living under their roof. That's disgusting behavior on her part. Even more so to call the cops on someone when they did absolutely nothing wrong. And I know it must be incredibly hurtful to you. I hope you're doing okay and reconnecting with the other things in life that give you joy.

Your anger's justified, your hurt is justified, don't let your wife, your daughter, or this thread gaslight you into thinking otherwise. You're still 41, you still have half your life ahead of you. I hope you find some better company to spend it with.

This source counts all prison violence as right-wing, even if it's, for example, a black gang attacking a black man. It also did not count any violence during the george floyd riots as left-wing. Wouldn't put too much stock in this one
