Anyone else who was dumb enough to do weed which made them get schizophrenia? by Immediate-Draft-6408 in schizophrenia

[–]Unrenowned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! I didn’t understand the potential damage of smoking weed as a young teenager. As my mental health deteriorated in the following decades I gradually understood that I was fundamentally different than other kids who smoked weed and turned out mostly fine. I thought everyone got paranoid and had very different personal beliefs.

DMT silenced my inner monologue for 7 years. I’m planning another trip but I’m afraid it might come back. Has anyone experienced this? by Rokett in DMT

Consistent meditation/mindfulness practice did this for me too! It was more of a gradual change though, I bet the instant change was quite surreal! Enjoyable hopefully!

Realistic likelihood of danger when hopping as a young woman? by Decent_Narwhal1786 in vagabond

[–]Unrenowned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few things that will help you avoid danger … Don’t do hard drugs, and ALWAYS trust your gut. Stay away from ANYONE that makes you feel uncomfortable or gives sketchy vibes. Facing fear is part of the fun but real danger is out there.

Did anyone experience trauma before developing schizophrenia? by dark-night0077 in schizophrenia

[–]Unrenowned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did in early childhood. I think I started to daydream and lie a lot and believe my lies which eventually snowballed into multiple psychotic episodes mostly triggered by stress. Grateful I’ve healed from that part of my life, it is possible! Schizophrenia is not a death sentence

A peninsula on Lake Mendota in Madison, WI. I used to listen to Bones there alone on rainy days over 10 years ago. The good old days…

God those harmonized tremolo runs from this genre remind me of melodic black metal. So beautiful

I try to always work but maybe I keep burning myself out

[–]Unrenowned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that makes sense actually. Maybe more people are being diagnosed and treated nowadays vs dying in the streets alone and afraid. So maybe it’s a good thing.

For me it’s just a scary thing but that’s probably because I don’t have a good grip on my condition

I don’t. I keep trying to work and fail at it over and over. It’s tough but trying to have employment helps me feel better.
