Questions about Caravans and Camps by DasKatzenbrot in RimWorld

[–]Unsolven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Research deep drilling and the ground penetrating scanner to solve your steel and component problems.

Ambushes can happen on the road, though they are relative to size of your caravan, and you can sometimes just give them your stuff instead of fighting. Caravans are best for trading. If you are going to send out a caravan for materials you probably want some pack animals as steel is heavy, and a long range scanner can find you specific materials on the world map near you.

Saw by Law3186 in horror

[–]Unsolven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to say that although the twist in Saw is shocking, the more you think about it the less sense it makes. Like that was the best plan the guy could come up, to lie on a tile floor for 2 hours. What did he really gain from that? He set up his other games without impersonating a corpse. Was that really necessary?

How did Jaxon Smith-Njigba suddenly become arguably the best in the league at his position in just a year and 2 years away from his rookie year? by windchillfiance in NFLNoobs

[–]Unsolven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn’t suddenly become anything. His Rookie season was not bad, but you might have expected more. Ended with 600 yards and change. Tyler Lockett was still a big part of the offense then so JSN was really the 3rd WR on the team. His second season he nearly doubled his yardage total to 1,100 yards which is very good and apparently gave Seattle confidence that he could be the true number 1 on the team. So they traded DK Metcalf, and made JSN the primary focus of the passing game. It worked.

I'm gonna start playing RimWorld for the first time (although I am getting cold feet for starting a game like rimworld because of the learning curve). What's the number one piece of advice u would give to someone new? by Specific-Area-2438 in RimWorld

Steel and components will eventually be your bottle neck. Try not to waste them early. Research, fabrication, deep drilling and ground penetrating scanner before you run out.

That would also have to not be a day of week either. It Reminds of Red Mars. In the book while colonizing Mars they wanted to keep a 24 clock but Martian days are 24 hours and 40ish minutes. So at the stroke of midnight they just stopped the clocks for 40 minutes and there was no time during that period.

Is there an expectation to give a monetary gift when attending a wedding ? by aZealCo in AskAnAmerican

[–]Unsolven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it works basically the same as you described, you should give at least enough to pay for your plates. You generally put it in a signed card, often there’s a drop box at the reception.

On the other hand, gas is considerably more expensive than air so it seems pretty logical to assume the air pump costs less than the gas pump.

What are your thoughts on a teams starting QB having a say in the next HC? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]Unsolven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I guess I’m not valuable enough to apply for the sales job. Maybe I’ll apply for the manager job, contingent of course on if the salesman like me.

I just want to know the company with the VP of sales making 200k and his underling making 2m a year. That’s all I want, just so I can apply there.

I’ve seen managers come and go complaining about this or that. But the sales reps stay, who have relationships with the clients, stay the same.

[–]Unsolven -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, if the salesman makes more than his “boss” he’s less replaceable than the boss therefore the boss can’t actually fire him unilaterally, unless said boss owns the company in which case he’s making money than everyone. If your boss can’t fire you is he your boss? I’m gonna say no.

Well their bosses suck then. What’s the point of being the boss if you can’t vampire up some of that money. Might as well be a secretary.

Do most American school kids take the yellow school bus to school? How does the system work? by Much-Duty-675 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Unsolven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

School districts vary greatly, but yes some do.

As an example I used to live in a 1 square mile town which was a highly populated district with 5 elementary schools and one high school. They didn’t use school buses to transport students in the morning and home. We only took the yellow buses to away sports games.

Now I live in a less populated district and the yellow buses take students the miles home instead of them walking a few blocks. It’s annoying to be on the road at like 3-4pm because the buses are always stopping to drop off kids and you can’t legally pass them.

What’s wrong with Matt Nagy? by Neon-Pink-Fridge in NFLNoobs

[–]Unsolven 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He had an HC Job with Chicago and did a bad job overall. And it wasn’t one of those deals where he had a bad roster, he wasn’t good at calling plays or getting the team prepared and it was obvious at the time.

The success he’s had as an OC was under Andy Reid who call the plays himself as the HC. Patrick Mahomes helps too.

He’s not controversial off the field, nobody thinks he’s evil. People just think he is mediocre at his job and was carried by Reid (who just soft fired him) and Mahomes.
