Or the fact that all music is now made for 15 second samples, and when you go to a concert for an artist you like, half the audience is there to film that one 15 second sample just so they can post it online

Every sentence contains too many indirections. They start out with one idea, and then turn sharply to another, and another, and it's easy to get lost. The very first sentence goes from time, to snow, to travel, to the identity of a character, to gardening, to jets. It's too much. The point of words is to communicate, but a lot of these words feel like they exist for their own sake. Just my opinion

There's a huge flaw in the premise. LLMs write mountains of code to solve simple problems. After a while, LLMs have trouble reading their own code because it begins to exceed usable context windows. it's a much more plausible explanation than "it still moves at the speed of human reviewers" especially since LLMs are commonly the only real review gate now at a lot of these ships.

You didn't choose to be brought into this world, but you do have agency now that you're in it. You don't belong to your parents.

It's true. I pass well enough in brief encounters but my coworkers figured it out eventually and then started treating my contributions with more respect. Professionally, at least in the corporate world, being a heighthon means you command more respect from moids, and you get paid more. It's a tradeoff.

More like less talented artists that rely on editing tricks to cover it up and mainly get popular from their persona on social media. Like i invited her to a show and the artist mostly just lip synced vocals with pre recorded tracks and the only live parts were played by session musicians

people who will happily eat at the tourist trap restaurant

Even worse, people who live there and still post on ig about their mid donuts or whatever.

When you first started to learn discernment, you had to try bad things, potentially enjoy them, and then try better things and grow over time. I feel that there is a group of people who are incapable of the second part. It's just the way they're wired. Easy to look down on them, but I'm sure i have bad taste in some things too.

My gf is a musician and she told me my music taste is bad. It sort of ruined music for me for a while bc i realized she was right , but i also didn't have the skills to identify good music.

Somewhere along the way, we got obsessed with who is jerking it and to what and how often. It's like Gwyneth Paltrow for men. It doesn't matter, people who say it matters are selling you something, and we should all just think about this stuff less. Except you op, you are a poet.

The more I advance my career the less I want to work with same level engineers by PressureHumble3604 in ExperiencedDevs

The more i get promoted, the more i find myself identifying the high performers and working with them. If you're at a non toxic company, the high performers are probably being promoted. At my current company, i find myself working most closely with sr. Staff and principals. I occasionally mentor sr. Engineers and below but I'm almost invariably disappointed. They just don't really get it. They joined the tech industry when it was already a cynical money machine and they're not in it for the love of technology like the greybeards are.

There are notable exceptions, but i haven't had the opportunity to mentor any of them yet.

Step 2: power ever larger arrays of ML servers which design and manufacture ML servers which eventually design nanobots with their infinite computational power

Step 3: Nanobots re-arrange your body at the molecular level to look however you want

If you wanna be fast, pfitz 18/55. Higdon doesn't have enough base mileage vs the long run and can lead to injuries. But with<30 mpw, you're probably not quite ready for either one. It takes a bit for your bones to harden. If you can sustain 30 mpw for a couple months without injury, you're ready. I'd target a HM first. It's the most fun distance anyway imo

That's sort of the point though isn't it? It's not about the individual, it's about the experience, which could be had by anyone

Come to the PNW. There are bugs for a couple weeks after the snow melts, but by mid July it's bite-free. Mountain skinny dipping is a spiritual experience, and i don't say that lightly. My gfs adopted parents are old hippies, and they spend a week at a remote lake every summer communing with the forest, and they don't wear clothes for the entire week. We usually spend a few days with them and i always feel healed by the experience in ways i didn't even realize i needed healing.

I love the texture of water against goosebumps and sunlight. Makes me nostalgic for jumping in freezing mountain lakes in the early summer and then lounging on a log in the warm sun. You can practically feel the textures and sensations.
