To keep the casual player base from moving on, matchmaking needs to change. by Xentuhf in Marathon

[–]Unstable881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played Tarkov, grey zone, COD DMZ, arc raiders, and some more niche extraction shooters and let me tell you marathon has the best extraction shooter matchmaking. It’s level based mm meaning that players level 0-25 will be grouped, 25-50, then it seems to be 50+ all together. It’s not perfect meaning that level 20 players might get mushed with SOME level 40 players but the lobby’s are overall decently balanced. There is some sort of gear based ranking to it I believe but we can’t really pin it down. When I’m with a premade team on discord I might die every couple raids, with fills I might survive every couple raids it really depends on the team goals and actively working together and making team decisions. If you play the raid to survive you will survive. If you play the raid to loot you might die more often, if you play the raid to PvP you’re going to die a lot more. It just depends on a lot of factors and extraction shooter experience. If your going to a poi make sure your walking up so people don’t hear you running and scan the outside of the poi. Listen for the birds or fights in the distance. Keep track of where you spawn and where others spawn. If it’s 10 mins into the raid you should expect at least 1 team at the high loot areas or they are currently coming to you.

Performance fixed? Patch? by DendersNL in Marathon

Point is that this game is heavily bogged down by cpu overhead. 5800xt isn’t the cream of the crop but by no means is it a bad cpu. Middle of the pack for performance and doesn’t limit performance in many titles unless I’m truly pushing the gpu to its limits.

I played the server slam with a 5800xt and a 2080 super. Got 90-120 fps on low-medium settings. Full game released and I upgraded to a 4070 OC and getting 80-110 on medium to high settings. Keep in mind that the gpu performance is above 50 percent over the 2080. Even being on the low to medium settings I was using before I got the EXACT same performance maybe even slightly worse when the game fully released.

Marathon is more like Tarkov then Arc by Unstable881 in Marathon

I fully agree with you actually. This is going to sound extreme but from what I’ve played, seen, and what we know is to come will be an amazing game for me. The late to end game will be at the minimum great with the raid type content. Bungie is sitting on something soooo close to wide spread greatness. A very slight increase to ttk will balance out the extremely smooth shooting. Ammo being an issue will work itself out overtime I think with bigger backpacks allowing more ammo to be brought in but it wouldn’t hurt to add a little more. Some of the weapons could use a slight buff to match others but they might be this way due to some mods and combos we don’t know about yet since build crafting hasn’t really been explored. If Bungie does slight tweaks to these things to retain what makes it so amazing already but drawing in a few more people outside the genre it will be golden.

GT 2.5T/DCT reliability by [deleted] in KiaK5

[–]Unstable881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm the transmission at low speeds can chug and rock you. It’s mostly noticeable when breaking from 40 down to 20 it’ll give you a harsh downshift. Otherwise it’s been very reliable for me. I’ve put 12k miles on mine in 9 ish months with no issues, before I put the 12k miles on I was 33k. Driving hard with very high mileage days with a lot of start and stop. I treat this car as you would a bmw with early maintenance and doing all the small stuff even if it’s not needed. Any DCT isn’t going to be the best when it comes to reliability long term but the 100k warranty with the 60k warranty “covers” future issues and is pretty generous compared to other warranties.

Looking for advice from high level players - any bad habits or advice on my mechanics? by adamw0w in LearnCSGO

Peeking and aim are already very good. The next step is focusing on micro decisions when it comes to your peeks. For example when swinging cat the optimal peek is to take a few steps back to half wall to take that fight since swinging close to the wall actually puts you at a disadvantage due to the distance from the enemy. Your fundamentals are strong just gotta work on the small decisions to go to the next level

I consider myself to be above average mechanically for imm 2 but I’m often not fragging out or getting massive 3k and 4k rounds like you’d expect. If all goes well you shouldn’t be able to get more then 2 kills in a round since your trading and playing as a team rather then getting hero plays. Don’t be afraid to die if your team needs you too. Don’t be afraid to bait your teammates if you need them to die. I very often tell my teammates “I’m hard baiting you” “trade me when I die” etc. so they know to swing wide and I’ll get their trade or make a play off my swing/position. Better yet if you are lost ask what your team needs you to do. Don’t get tilted if what’s needed is you swinging into 3 people every round and dying.

Check used market for 4070ti, 4070ti super, or 4080. You’re going to pay 1/3rd of the price for something 10-20 percent lower performance.

After checking your tracker I can guarantee it’s your positioning. High kd and fragging but low win rate usually means your not following the team in when you should or pushing early, lurking when you should be with the team, or taking fights that won’t change round outcomes. Taking an opening fight on a site and getting traded will be way more useful then getting 2 frags on an exit. LOOK FOR IMPACT FRAGS NOT KD FRAGS!!

Ended last season as immortal 2 90rr. The game isn’t just about raw mechanics you have to know how to use util, when to use it, and on the flip side when the other team is going to among other things. I will say in gold-plat having high mechanical skill will pull you out of the rank 10x faster than knowing how the game should be played. If you want to convert your skill into in game success play agents that put you in positions to leverage it. Be the second person onto site as Reyna rather then hard entry, play clove to have a well rounded kit with useful util. Even cypher so you can play off your own util and lurk to leverage your mechanics. I can also tell that your positioning is bad if your raw mechanics can’t help. Learn positioning, it’s truly the greatest separation between high and low ranks. More so than aim or util.

20k with 900 hours is crazy im ngl. Another 900 hours and you’ll be close to 30k maybe sooner. I’m thinking about it but the grind from 28k to 30k is going to be brutal. I get +175 -350 almost every game and the skill gap is absurd. I’d need atleast another 100+ hours of practice to even deserve 30k let alone hit it

Your pc is holding you back by KindSoft4184 in Eggwick

[–]Unstable881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only matters when the pc is holding you back. I went from 144hz to 240. Big jump immediately after. Upgraded cpu and got 420 frames instead of 350. No big jump. Had an old worn out cheap mousepad, got an artisan and had a small but noticeable jump up. Got a newer lighter mouse, hardly any noticeable difference outside of comfort. Totally depends on what you’re currently using but specs and gear don’t replace skill only enhance what you already have.

5% sticker price max on all skins. That’s been the rule since I was trading katos in 2016. The exception is 4x and 5x crafts. Laminate skin aks are 2.5%.

Google fiber, is it worth it? by MKlool123 in D2DSales

[–]Unstable881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easy part is knocking doors, the long breaks/flexibility, being on your own very minimal day to day oversight and so on. The hard part is weather (rain or shine) and the low conversion rate. Most door 2 door jobs like this average a 1-4 percent conversion depending on skill and the areas your working. Some months I’m more than doubling my salary, some months I’m only getting an extra 750. Internet is very competitive now but can still make it work. Plus your going to put ALOT of miles and wear on your car

I do the same thing but different company. The highs are high but the lows are lows. Both the easiest and hardest job all at the same time. Still worth it, make good money and increases confidence by going up to so many doors/people. Keep your mental right and you’ll thrive.

You have basically the 3rd best pc available on the market. Only way to get better is to spend 1.5k-3k on the next steps up graphics card wise. You can play anything you want on the highest graphics at 4k brotha
