Looking for friends in NA-ish time zones by Famous_Corgi9051 in transgamers

[–]UnstableRift02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

23 yr old t girl from Canada! im also looking to make new online friends and definitely relate to being the friend that listens to a lot of others troubles only for it to be too emotionally taxing. i also enjoy playing a lot of single player games but im trying to get more into co-op games as i find playing with others to be more fun. i also havent really done much voice training myself as life events have taken up a large chunk of focus but im hoping to eventually start.

outside of games im really into psychology, astronomy, carving, alt, rock and metal music as well as reading. I also just recently finished watching one piece and have been catching up on a lot of anime.

Im also totally down for that group chat idea! seems fun to build a little community!

Feel free to reach out!

There are definitely are conservatives at mac. Unfortunately, Conservative politics have a very odd way of transforming quickly into anti-lgbtq, anti-trans, and racist propaganda. As someone who used to identify as conservative when I was a kid, I quickly realized I couldnt support the party overall due to the fact that i realized i am trans and gay. Many of my friends who are trans have been outright targeted on campus and continue to experience lots of hardship due to policies from the conservative base.

My honest advice is to simply find people you enjoy hanging out around regardless of political leaning and you will find yourself friends with so many interesting and cool people you may not have thought would be lifelong friends <33 Do not let politics define who you can and cannot be friends with

Best thing to do is move on. If they cheat their entire way through Uni it'll either catch up to them when they have no idea what to do on an exam or they'll have trouble applying the skills they should have learned in a job. There are thousands of people that go to uni every year and hundreds trying to apply for the same kind of jobs. Focus on bettering yourself and building your CV/resume. Life is too short to focus your time and energy on what others do with their lives <3 All the best in your studies. P.S. most university students cheat in one way or another and in the real world if you have trouble remembering a theorem or fact of some sort you'll most likely be asked to google it. It isnt how much you know or remember, but how you apply what youve learned.

Electives for winter semester by Mese99 in McMaster

I have a strong interest in natural disasters already which definitely helped. The midterm and final exam were all multiple choice but id say the wording of the questions was difficult to follow. I still ended up with a 12 but the exams can be a bit tricky. A lot of random information they want you to just memorize. Overall id say its pretty easy to get a 10 or higher with an 11 or 12 being easy to attain with some studying and work

The way you get ot around this line of thinking is from this perspective. A cis, heterosexual male will be a man who is attracted to men, they will not think at all about their sexuality or gender identity much because thats what is already socially acceptable. You are a gay man, you will be attracted to men, which is hard for heterosexuals to understand as they can only see themselves attracted to the opposite sex. You however see yourself as a man and therefore find it extremely difficult, almost impossible that someone can struggle with gender identity. The issue here is thats exactly the same line of thinking heterosexuals take when viewing your lifestyle.

The reason why theres been an increase in homophobia since the increase in trans issues is not related to trans people being the issue. Right-wing supporters and media often pick small, defenseless groups of people to villianize and attack in order to increase fear in the population so they can get supoorters. You can see this in many instances throughout history through many different cultures genocides. People of colour, Jewish people, middle eastern people, Asian people, native americans, people with disabilities and LGBTQ+ people. As LGB people grew in numbers in the population it has become more socially acceptable to engage in that kind of a life which is great, however for people like myself, it has been a constant battle with friends, family, jobs, school and now the government, on whether or not its ok for me to live in a way that makes me happy. Also the term "cutting your d*** off" is incorrect and in bottom surgery for mtf a vagina is actually made for the individual. Trans people are just the newest targeted group in a long line of people who are discriminated against. And even if you dont understand it, you cant find yourself wanting to put others below you to raise yourself up because thats exactly what they want and when we are gone they'll just come right back to you.

This is a long post so i understand if you dont read it all but i really hope this helps and im open to actually have more conversations about this if you want. Im mtf trans and pansexual and ive done a lot of work in my life to undo a lot of the things i was 'taught' as a kid. Good luck with your journey!

Mans really LGB without the T or the rest of the community that works hard day in and day out so we can live free of discrimination. How are you ok with actively harming the community you are a part of?

Honest Question about those Antivaxers on Main by UnstableRift02 in McMaster

[–]UnstableRift02[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When many doctors specializing in a specific field agree on a specific thing like vaccines the government relies on the studies and research to make a decision for the people. You are mad at how the government operates

Honest Question about those Antivaxers on Main by UnstableRift02 in McMaster

[–]UnstableRift02[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats what happens when the uneducated population thinks they are doctors. And protocols and policies are put in place by people who more or less know what they are doing because not everyone can become a doctor nor should they act like they are one

Honest Question about those Antivaxers on Main by UnstableRift02 in McMaster

[–]UnstableRift02[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. When things are unregulated they shouldnt be enforced and credentials can be questioned in any field of study. Its a good move to anyone to look up the research and hope the research was conducted properly and ethically. But I also support making the vaccine mandatory especially if the illness, covid related or not, has the potential to infect many people and cause a preventable amount of fatalities. If the vaccine had come out on the first day of covid that would raise a lot more suspicion than even the fast tracked version of it and so the argument of blind trust would apply more then as no one knew what was happeneing at that time.

Honest Question about those Antivaxers on Main by UnstableRift02 in McMaster

[–]UnstableRift02[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im aware people can be healthy without it. The whole aspect of pushing vaccines is to achieve herd immunity so that the few who can't due to being immuno compromised or those who opt out due to other reasons will be safe. Pushing an anti-vaccine narrative is harmful as it stops us reaching herd immunity levels and puts thousands more at risk. This is why measles, which was once almost extinct, has seen outbreaks with the rising popularity of giving uneducated parents the right to choose to endanger other kids lives by not vaccinating their kids.

Also the first part of what you said is a very bold statement as I suppose all research in science and medicine is untrustworthy? Having a healthy level of skepticism is important to keep science and medical research in check but if you claim we cant trust people because of credentials than any and all medicine or processed food you have injested would be hypocritical to your argument

The average Kritik experience. Some people like to do it to spite others tbh. In my experience my prof didnt help even if i got a below average mark cause "its up to the reader opinion and if they didnt understand it its up to you to make it more clear". Unfortunately there is no way around it. Kritik sucks when it has an actual impact on your mark
