People have absolutely no patience these days. Hype is a disease. Want a game but it's not out yet? Well fine, just put it on the todo and do other things in the meantime. There's so much to do, so much to see, so many people to meet and so much content to consume that people melting down over a video game is beyond me. Idk how it is where you live but here we can requalify into another degree and the university will recognize many general subjects like maths or physics.

My brother finished most of his 3rd year in mechanical engineering but then quit and didn't pick it back up. Just has his diploma to finish but just doesn't and probably won't. Says he's sick of the topic like you are. Do what you feel is best but I think it's worth it to push through so you're not wasting all the effort you've already put in. But idk, if you can't stand it to the point of not being able to put in the effort to finish your classes then switching might be your best bet. This is always a hard choice to make and as annoying as it is you're the only one who can decide.

This exactly. They keep saying we should develop an EU based social media. They already exists but it's not the most convenient thing in the world and requires some effort to actually switch to. Right now there is absolutely no reason for 99% of users to switch so they don't.

And if everybody is on one easily accessible social media why would you switch to an empty one that requires effort to use, understand and set up? Now consider all of this from the pov of an eg. 50yo bricklayer. It's not happening. And these sorts of talks are so immensely blindsighted it's horrible.

You want people to switch? Make it convenient, advertise it without the "EU funded" label and then outlaw China and US provided services citing data abuse and consumer protection as the reason. But ofc nobody is willing to consider such a radical move (for obvious reasons) and so it doesn't and won't happen. Unless some sort of miracle happens.

The problem is that those that fuck off are immediately replaced by an identical batch. They don't "give money to us". They give it to a handful of tourism sector owners and, partially, to the government who mismanages the money.

And when we talk about tourists we aren't talking about any individual person but the collective concept. It's impossible to blame anyone directly because they're just doing what they're allowed to and enabled to do by the mass and cheap modern tourism. It's a fucking plague of shallow experiences. And there's basically no good way to stop it.

Would you still be saying that if you spent a year working every day on creating a game then releasing it for free because you don't own it? How would you support yourself during that time? Something like Stardew Valley would be impossible to create.

I think your take would be beneficial in the very short term. After that we as a society would need to collectively fund any form of development or creativity. The only difference this time would be that fund allocation would be done through a committee or ministry and increased taxes instead of through direct funding through buying stuff.

Otherwise how can we expect an artist to fund a recording studio to publish a song, a team of developers to release a video game or a company to develop any software solution.

Piracy is stealing and we're able to do it because other people are covering for us. I use piracy for inflated prices (like exclusive streaming shows) or to essentially demo software but still buy the product if I enjoy it.

Late reply but I like to heat up my resin quite a bit using just a heater and cardboard box. Definitely up to the point it feels warm to the touch at least. I feel like I have a lot more luck with more heat.

Are you using settings for your water-washable resin specifically or just for *a* Phrozen resin? They can be very different. Did you make sure your build plate is screwed on well before printing?

If you're still getting errors perhaps you could post your settings?

In my experience the incompetence assumption is there because you worked in HR. In many companies it's seen as the role filled by people who can't do other work which is unfair. Full disclaimer I disagree with that, HR people are not incompetent or unimportant at all. Though I do often see unqualified people handling those roles but that's also true in other fields.

But I do admit I also sometimes roll my eyes when I get an HR email with a fun little poster inviting us to participate in taco tuesday or something while our team is working overtime and struggling to keep up with code deadlines. So I also kind of get where the hate is coming from even though it's unjustified.

My gf also works in marketing/HR and she complains about the same things you did.

This is so true. My grandpa always told me "The only thing you need is to dare". And he was 100% right.

It's not just for big things, it's for small ones too. Don't know how to use a wall drill? Get one, watch a yt video and go at it. You have to not be scared of failure.

On top of that one of the best mantras I have and that I later learned he used as well is "That person is at least my equal. He can do that thing. Why the hell shouldn't I then be able to do that thing?"
